All-Leather JCW Steering Wheel for R50/53

Hi,

I'm in search of the elusive R50/53 JCW Steering Wheel in all-leather.

I've been able to find the Alcantara version, but not the all-leather version. I've checked dealers, places like Outmotoring, and have been haunting eBay forever, but nada.

I need someone to either talk me out of this upgrade :-), or if you happen to know of a source could you PM me.

Thanks!

Doubtful you'll find one avail unless it's second hand.

When I called Jayson at Classic he did not see either in US Inventory and the only one I could find available in the UK was the Leather/Alcantara version- with the exchange rate at that time it was as cheap as from Classic over here.

Since only the bottom and top are Alcantara, I have not found keeping the Alcantara clean to be an issue since most of the time my hand positions are where the leather is at. Can't try and talk you out of it, I like my JCW steering wheel

NLA since Aug 2008 according to BMW/MINI.

I have the Alcantara JCW wheel as well, and the leather is placed where it's normally held. I would suppose some company out there must manufacture an aftermarket leather stitch wrap for it.

Just never bothered to look.

This is where I got mine, they appear to have some left:

With shipping to the east coast, current conversion is around $400 USD.

Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions.

I caved today, and grabbed the Alcantara JCW Steering Wheel from Colin at MINI of Ontario. Not my first choice, but I'm sure I'll be happy I jumped on it.

Thanks again everyone.

Unfortunately, the steering wheels are not interchangeable.

What are the odds of getting an all leather CJW anywhere All I can find are the Alcantara ones. I don't like that material but I love the JCW wheel.

As I've posted on NAM in the past, it appears that all of the all-leather JCW SW are sold out, both here and abroad. THere might be the odd example somewhere tucked away in a dealership somewhere, but the computer system shows that they're all sold out.

I ordered the Alcantara, as mentioned above, but I sent it back. I, too, am not a fan of Alcantara and couldn't talk myself into it.

I was told by the Dealership that the r53 JCW eliminates the MFSW controls. Is this true?

Not at all, you just swap them over from your old wheel.

Thanks, this is what I figured. If it were the case everyone would be saying "its really expensive, and I don't know if I can justify the lack of my MFSW"
