Wow that's super clean and nice photos. Love the Front and rear Euro recaros when never had here and you have the euro cubby also. Rare leather dash and downtubes. Very cool.

Thank you I don't have the clubman any more. I have an F56 Cooper with JCW Chili Pack as my company car.

Picked up a 2006 R52 JCW from a salvage auction back in August. Have slowly been fixing the major issues. It will be an ugly little beasty for a good while, it was totalled due to hail damage, but I've just been focusing on repairing major damage areas and the minor mechanical issues that I have found. Should be a fun, if imperfect example to bomb around in this spring.

Well, as you can see, it was easier to buy a new hood than repair the existing due to the damage. I went aftermarket due to the inability to find a good one locally, guess we will see if that ends up being worth it. I also had to replace the windshield and cowl, both A pillar trim pieces, and the soft top, as the back window was blown out. I repaired the front aero bumper which had some cracks too. Otherwise, probably 2/3 of the car has smallish dents from hail, and there were 2 huge dents on both rear quarter panels. Honestly, those look like someone took a mini sledge to them. No way in hell those happened from a hail storm. Probably was trying to make sure the car got totalled...or at least that is my working theory. (you can see one of them in the pictures below) I've worked those two out to be less noticeable, but am in no rush to finish the body work. So long as it drives and passes the rebuild safety inspection, the cosmetics can wait.
Also needed tires (Had 4 mismatched ones on the R105s), new front strut bushings, and a new rear 3rd brake light.
Interior is in excellent shape and has the rare JCW leather dash panels, which look awesome. Does have a broken glove box latch, but that's not really critical. Amazingly I managed not to break the soft top frame or any of the electronics while replacing the top, and it all goes up and down normally.
I'm just waiting on some replacement sidemarkers for the front and need to finish aligning the hood, which frankly has been giving me fits.

No. I've seen hail damage that looks that bad. It's not a sledge hammer. You lose when they total the car. Nobody wants a totaled car unless you're way underwater and the car was really a beater. I would get MINI body parts. Aftermarket may have fit issues. But all depends on your budget and goals. PDR may fix that severe corner hail strike.

I'm going to skip paying folks for dent repair at this point. The sheer number of smaller dents make that a losing proposition from a $ perspective. They are hard to see in those photos, but they are there, throughout most of the major panels. I think the passenger side door and both front quarter panels escaped damage, but that was about it.
Tires are being mounted today, hope to be properly titled and on the road by end of March, weather permitting of course.
