JCW, do it or not?

So Morristown has the JCW stuff now. $1000 for the suspension (shocks, springs and sway bars) and about $1600 for the engine kit. After labor, the whole thing would end up costing about $3600. With a nice factory warrenty in place and lots of extra performance, is it worth it? I think the suspension is definitely a little soft, and more engine power is always a great thing. Anyone do all the upgrades? Are you happy? Does your MINI run well?
Thanks for the opinions, positive or negative.

I say do it. If I was remotely close to Morristown MINI, I would have gone with JCW instead of Alta. They have some smokin' prices!

I got my JCW tuning kit and suspension at Morristown and recommend all three highly. Great service and the car runs great.

I say it depends on how you plan on using the car.

Day in, day out under all driving conditions you will notice the difference between the stock and JCW suspension.

On those rare days you get to really wind her out in the twisties, take part in your local autocross, or hit the track... you'll love the added ponies up top. But you have to push it a bit (>4500 RPM) to feel the difference in the engine kit. It makes the car pull 'till redline.

$1600 for the tuning kit is a lot lower than most places are offering it for. I think most places are 2200 plus 2 hours labor.

At $1600, I'd definitely go for it. I haven't tried it on the street yet, but it made a significant difference on the track.

Definitely go for the suspension...I love it more and more each day. It obviously handles soooo awesome in the turns, but what I keep noticing more, is how hard I can get on the gas when accelerating out of the turns(I have LSD as well). No matter what type of turn or what speed, I can get to full throttle so quick without any wheel spin or torque steer....100% yes. As for engine stuff, I have Alta stuff which I totally love, so I say Alta for engine performance, JCW for suspension.

But you have Mach V springs that are shorter and probably stiffer than JCW springs.

Morristown is $1680 for the kit plus 3 hours labor at $110 per hour. $2010 + tax out the door. I've heard good things about Morristown too. I just wasn't impressed with the gains from the JCW for the way I drive. I put my money into tires and a swaybar, and am delighted with it for everyday driving.

I talked to Mike at Morristown a few weeks ago and he told me they were doing the install at book time (2 hours).

Do it. The price is really hard to argue with, especially at Morristown.

Related question - does anyone know "book" install time for the JCW suspension? I want to help keep my local dealer honest.
