JCW Challenge Stripes?

Does aesthetic creations make a stripe kit similar to the new JCW challenge cars? The closest I could see is the viper kit but they're spaced farther apart than the JCW ones.

MINI offers those stripes, but you wouldn't be able to get laser blue for the roof

AC does a lot of custom stuff, so ask them.

I don't know what the JCW Challenge cars looked like but someone in another thread had commented that the stripes in my signature looked like Challenge stripes. If so, you can check out my gallery for more pics.

These stripes were done at the dealer by their local guy for $240 total.

The stripe would be quite simple to replicate by any of the vendors...Challenge MINIs have been running these stripes for a long time. IMO, the best graphics in the world (literally) were found on the Challenge MINIs...I always found the John Cooper Challenge (and now MINI Challenge) galleries fascinating.

T-Horn - yours are almost exactly how I want mine. I would prefer them to be slightly thinner (about the total width of a US spec plate) but if that's not readily available, the style you have would make me very happy. Can you PM me the info regarding your stripes?

Just get the viper stripes and space them closer together?

Here's what the current Challenge car looks like:

They're almost identical to T-Horns, except for a bit of a difference in the back.

I'm sure if you emailed Mike at AC he could relatively easily hook you up w/ some stripes that look like the ones on the Challenge car. I've been looking for the exact same thing (I think I'm the one who was lusting after T-Horn's stripes earlier.) and I haven't found anyone who's got an exact match in their regular stock.

Mini Pirate offer a full set of Challenge car graphics on their site, but they look to be an older design (the stripes look like standard Mini bonnet stripes).

The closest thing I've found are the Sport Stripes in the Mini accessories book, but they don't cover the lower sections (bumper, spoiler) however I imagine it'd be somewhat trivial to use some bits from a second set to do the full look.

They're the 'Sport Stripes' and they're $85 per kit (available for the body [boot, bonnet] or roof). They come in red, white, or black. If you want to do the challenge look you'd actually need three kits - one for the roof, one for the bonnet/boot, and one to cover the bumper areas the body kit doesn't cover.

If you need actual part numbers I could dig up the ones you want, but that should be enough to go on.

Are your front turn indicator lenses still yellow, or is that just from the bulb?

They are pre cut but they have pretty big spacing from the badge. what i did was i ordered the normal kit which inculdes the bonnet and boot, then i also ordered a roof stripe kit, all from morristown MINI.. i ended up custom cutting out my own stripes for the parts around the emblem so they would fit tight. I also tucked the stripe under the scoop, chrome, and other parts to make it look cleaner. Its not hard, but its not easy to do... just take your time, use a water/soap solution as well as a hair dryer or something to heat it up to get it to wrap around corners better.

the yellow is from the bulb... i still want/need to swap those out to something clear or chrome that only flashes orange.

Thanks for the compliments!

heres one more pic

I might be forced to do that as well; that's pretty noticeable from the front, not so much from the rear. Too bad the stealth bulbs are so spendy unless you just do the 'spray the OEM bulb w/ silver paint' trick. Sylvania has some replacements in their Silvervision lineup that're only ~$12 for a pair, but the downside to those is that they look slightly blueish when not lit. (That might actually be an asset with your LB car.)

For those you're going to have to go aftermarket. Either try a local vinyl/sign shop, or one of the MINI custom graphics places (Aesthetic Creations, or Cooper Flags).

That's something that I would think should be in the user manual, or if it's not then someone'll have a how-to posted on here.

Hey guys.....check out this place http://www.signsupply.com/Vinyl/FDC/2100.asp

you can buy stripes in about any size and color for about $40 for the whole car...this is very high quality vinyl, FDC 2100 or 3m Scotchcal....this is the same or better than most graphic automotive stripes and a lot cheaper! cheers!

In the wheel well liner, you'll see two removable plastic covers. One of those will let you access that turn signal bulb.

if i had seen this before i probbly would have went this route as i had to custom cut out the area around my emblems anyway. For those considering diy for the stripes, definitely buy this setup.
