I agree with many others... neon can look pretty cool.... on a *show* car. If it's just your daily driver, then it's pretty darned tacky. IMHO, neon lights rank right up there with fake-bullet-hole decals, and "Pissing Calvin" stickers. Ick!

LOL! I remember back in the early 90s (or was it late 80s?) when my sister thought it would be cool to cover her burgundy Monte Carlo SS with all sorts of NEON GREEN accessories: windshield wipers, antennae "cozy", etc etc etc. Anyone remember that fad?!? I think she had it on for about 2 days before she realized how truly tasteless her idea was, and then she ripped it all off and restored what was left of the car's dignity!

All just my opinion, of course...

I'm with MGC. MINI is such a unique car already and its underlying uniqueness is Euro-cool. My two cents is that the mods should make sense with the rest of the car. Neon works with a low-rider pickup truck, but not a MINI .

YGBSM!!!

Care for the 3 pound Folgers coffee can Type 'R' exhaust to go with it? Holy Smokes Batman ... subtlety is the way to go. Look lean, pack 200 ponies under the hood. Now if it were a BMW, you could put an "M" badge on it and everyone knows it's good for another 10 hp.

ROFLMAO

I'm planning on getting them but after I get rims, graphics etc. I like them and some people dont we all have our opinions. Yeah I've seen civics and tangs with them but theyre never installed right and the cars look like peices of crap anyways.

I've seen some MINIs with rally graphics and grill emblems that made the car look like crap becuase it looked like they didnt really put them on right.

Who says we're trying to stay away from the Fast n Furious look? Did you see the cars in the first movie and the ones their using in the new one? Those cars are very nice... which also makes the movie seem fake because you dont see that many nice cars at the street races...not that Id know.

>>burgundy Monte Carlo SS
Now that alone in tacky! I dont think putting neons is gonna make that car any uglyer.

Mini street racer theres lots of show comming up you want to enter in some with me?

I am looking at ANYTIME that's good for all of us...

I've been thinking a lot about the "crew" and i can host all of your show photos on MightyMiniZ.com.... and we can "hook it up" as a team if we decide to take the show to the next level.
I can also do my best in assisting with "sponsorships" and more.

Lester, just like we talked about.

Interested?

And the graphics....

I recieved my CooperFlags produced, MightyMiniZ designed, Jolly Roger, and am aching to install it... but will wait for you guys, so we can have a "party".

Hopefully, Brandon can "hook us up" also *wink*

CooperFlags may also

And get this... I was approached by ANOTHER Graphics company as I was looking for the 3M pro and he said he could BEAT everyone's prices with a FAST print schedule...

If anyone has a specific design they would like to see on their roof.... or their windows or as bonnet/boot stripes... contact me, or Matt AKA CooperFlags, or Brandon AKA MiniMac!

I've always been for putting the money into making a car faster w/o changing the looks more than adding bolt on mods... and buying something to impress people is not my thing...

And not to mention, you sleep with your wife, not your car..

I'm looking into some vinyl numbers for the side of mine (a round 4) and the wife said that she's only ok, if they are removable.. (of course, I wouldn't do anything like that permanent to my MINI anyways..).. but even then, it's her that I share the bed with, not my MINI...

They would be cool as long as rap music is what you (and others around you) will be listening to! I think of it as a teenage thing. You know, screaming for attention. What's next, a green mohawk (not that there's anything wrong with that!! )?

I'm pretty much free all this summer when I'm out of school, so whenever is cool with you guys.

yo NUMMYTIME I'll be bumpin rap real loud! and I'll be bustin my own beats at the show too cuz im the shiznit, dont be hatin!

Neon lights under your car go with:
CDs hanging from your rearview mirror
Pep Boys flame stickers for the side of your car
Large crown shaped air fresheners on your rear deck
Chain-link license plate frames
Dice shaped valve caps
White painted vinyl dashboards
Snoop booming from the subs
Hydraulics

They do not go with:
High G forces
Clean European design
Supercharger singing at 6800rpm
The joy of driving a good car fast over a good road
BMW build quality
Paddy Hopkirk

I like the cold cathode blue light in my computer, but not, god forbid, anywhere near my car.

I've seen cars with neons under the drive and passenger door sills. They are somehow hooked up to the interior lights so that when you open the door the neons under the car come on with interior lights...looks especially cool if you have a delay in the interior lighting after the door is closed. They are not on when running down the street.

Anyone know how this might be wired into a MINI?

That sounds cool especially with the way the mini lights slowly turn on and off. Of course I'm not gonna turn on the neon lights as I drive down the street, I dont wanna do anything illegal Its for show use.

Of yeah I'm about to purchase some V spoke rims off a fellow MCO member so I have something a little bigger and more aggressive looking then my little 7 hole rims Now all I need is some graphics then its off to the shows
