For those you've got the aero front bumper...
Hi motorers,
My car is at the paintshop right now and they received my aero front bumper. I have a question... The "fenders" are molded in the bumper, and they are on primer... How did you guys managed to get them look like the plastic-look of the bonnet fenders? Thanks for any advices! |
Your Paint shop should have some "matte-black" finish available, MINI also sells a specific paint (part number is directions as well as the masking guide)
|
there are two kinds of aero bumpers.... ones with the textured paint and one with out.... BUT... a body shop should have that textured paint to match... if not.. I'd go somewhere else... :\

Thanks guys!!
The paintshop will call me prior to paint the car so I'll let them know about the above info... Thanks again!!! Really appreciate your help... I guess I'll sleep better tonight lol |
You may want to print the official aerokit instructions. Motoring file has them at the following link in their DIY section:
http://www.motoringfile.com/howto/Aerodynamic Bodykit.PDF The instructions specifically mention using a special paint for the fender portions of the kit. Just give the instructions to the body shop and they should have no trouble getting it done right. Good luck with the paint. I love the way the kit looks on my car. |
Thanks a thousand times ffwdm5 !!!
I sure will print those instructions and give them to my paintshop! |
ffwdm5,
I tried to look at your gallery, but you have no pics uploaded... Could you (please -magic word lol) upload a few pics so that I can see your aerokit! Thanks again! |
I just bought new trim ($60 for all 6 pieces) and painted it body color to match everything :).

Thanks again! https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...94#post1280594 Since my car is black, it may not be as obvious that the fenders match the trim pieces, but you can make it out a little in the front close up. |
