Check out the Lamina BL-3000 series LED's, not quite the intensity of the stock halogen, but getting close! The white LED array (about 1x1.25") in this series emits 567 lumens at 26W (5000k color... nice!), and coupled with the lens that Lamina sells specifically for this product makes it a manageable light source. Maybe this summer I'll have some extra $ to start playing around with this setup

I know Lamina has some LED's in the R&D, hopefully available soon, that will put the light output of their current products to shame! I can't wait!

Of course. Since your hazards are used in emergency cases, an emergency case could be an accident. You could have smashed any number of bulbs in an accident, and really wouldn't/shouldn't care that a bulb's out!

Well actually i believe that the hazard flasher is a separate relay from the turn signal flasher, i might be wrong.

 

Actually, believe it or not, there are not 'standard' relays that controls the flashing. It's ALL done by the BC1. Now, "What about that clicking when the lights are blinking? That sure as heck sounds like a relay to me!" I hear you cry. You are correct! There's a relay fastened to the back of the Speedo. It is ALSO controlled by the BC1 via the CAN bus to the Speedo. However, that realy DOES NOTHING OTHER THAN PROVIDE SOUND. How do I know? I took mine off! (Well, before taking it out, I did follow it's circuit to verify it wasn't connected to anything.) I didn't like the clicking, so I got rid of it!
