NY-I'm still waiting...I'll badger them again. I'm also finding out about the PSI or BAR. I'm pretty positive they are available in Celcius and PSI

Keeyu-The only thing I can do at the moment is add a gauge to the deal. That's the only option I was given at this pricing.

Thanks GC (you can read! hahahaha)

BAT-seee I know it will be you to post pics first! I can't wait!

Love-thank ya thank ya!

Ehugs for everyone! LOL :P

I just want a Boost gauge, I have the chrono pack though, so it doesn't leave me as many places to mount it. But, I want it

The gauges came in yesterday afternoon. I'm still waiting for the black gauge faces, but hopefully before the weekend. I can't check now, but when I get home I'll see if they are psi or bar and celsius or farenheit

Cool. That's going to make a lot of people happy. Get some pics when you get them installed.

I'm really digging these gauges. The only negative I see is the fact that half of the boost gauge will be unusable for 95% of MINI owners. With a 15% pulley, your barely (if ever) going to hit 15 psi. 30 psi is just too high and reduces the precision at which you can read the gauge. 20 psi would have been perfect. Even so, I still might end up getting some as the price is hard to pass up.

Kapps-good point. I didn't know about that so you just tought me something new all though I do know a few MINI owners who are probably hitting more than 15 LOL (besides...these are priced so nicely it's hard to say know...just picture me giving the puppydog eyes and say "pweeeeease" )

Stoo, I have a couple more questions about the gauge lighting. The lens becomes smoked whenever the ignition is off so does that mean the gauges will always be lit when the MINI is on? Also, the STRI site says they have a dimmer control for night driving. Since the MINI's OEM gauges light up when driving, is there any way of making these gauges brighter at night.

What I'm looking for is:
car off - gauges are smoked
car on (during the day) - gauge not smoked, little or no gauge lighting
car on (during the night) - gauge not smoked, bright gauge lighting

Is this setup possible with these gauges?

With smoked gauges like that, they will always be on at full intensity regardless of the daytime. They will need to be on during the day at full blast just to be seen. Gauges will also usually come with a wire that hooks up to a dimmer so that they gauges are less bright at night.

With my smoked gauges, they are sometimes hard to see when it is brighter outside.

No black guage faces yet, but here they are. They come with a ground, key power, and an illumination wire. When you start the car they are full bright and easy to see and when you turn on the lights, they dim a little and match up to the interior lighting. I still need to buy an adapter for the oil temp

Key Power

Lights On

Those look really nice batrugger. What did you do to tap into the existing power (fusebox? Add-a-circuit?)? Which PN did you order for the oil pan adaptor?

Thanks for being the first to post pics! Can we have a shot of them in the daylight?

I already had a boost guage there so it was pretty easy to do. I tapped the illumination wire and key power wire from the back of my Pioneer stereo. The oil temp adapter I haven't even checked into yet. I did an oil change a couple of months back so I am going to wait until it's time for another and I will hook it up then since it shows an adapter that inserts in front of the oil filter. The pics were taken in the daytime, but it was in my garage. I have no problem seeing the guages in full sunlight and at night it is a perfect match with instrument clusters

The STI package still came with all the required wires/lines though right?
Also, do the bezels come off? I just painted my Tach ring to match my Anthracite dash and would want the gauge bezels to match as well. How difficult does it look like that would be?

Thanks

They include everything you need including the oil temp sensor. You will have to get an adapter to tap into the oil though for the temp. The bezels do not come off, I tried. They could be painted by masking off the front.

How does the adapter fit? Is it one of those that require modification of the oil filter housing? Or is it a bolt-on?

Thanks

Most temp senders are 1/8" npt. You could drill and tap the filter canister or oil drain bolt. Several places sell replacement drain bolts that are already tapped for a temp sender. They are available for <$10.

Those are very nice. I would jump on it in a heartbeat if it were boost & oil press. Thanks for bringing out the deal and best of luck.

Yeah, I second that. What would be the cost differential to get oil pressure in PSI?

Ok, stoopid question time...

I've begun to regard the Dragon as the traditional place to mod my MINI. I know I cannot install these gauges myself. If I buy em now, who can install 'em at Fontana?

HB & Dav-right now I wasn't given a choice to change out the gauges for this package from the manufacturer so I will mention it but no promises

Who-I'm not sure who does electrical stuff. send a PM to Chad at Detroittuned.com he's quite the handy fellow and will be at the Dragon. If he can't do it then maybe he knows someone who can hope this leads you in the right direction

Thanks... Can you get an oil pressure gauge? Maybe if the price is right we can get the package, add the gauge outright, and I can ebay the temp gauge? What would that cost (as a package of course)

Thanks

I can get the extra Oil Pressure gauge at $79 I am waiting to hear if it can be switched out or if it can only be purchased on top of the package deal (but for that price you should just get all three! LOL wink wink nudge nudge)
