What a wimpy horn

I am finally tired of getting cut off at the same intersection. It's two lanes turning left onto three lanes. Invariably I am in the right lane turning left (into the middle of the three lanes) and the left lane driver turns left and then proceeds to slide across into my lane right on top of me. I hit the horn... "meeeeep - meep - meep". Driver never hears it. More often than not it's with a cell phone plugged in the ear.

I did the search. Read the horn replacement threads and listened to the sound clips. Rather than those, I'm going for the "Super Horns Disc Horn Set", Wolo model 306-2T on this link: http://www.wolo-mfg.com/elec.htm

Audio Clip

They are six-inch diameter. I wonder if they'll fit the original location?

The stock horn is wimpy

I added twin air horns and kept the stock.

I was behind a pickup just last week and he was "bagged", when the car in front of him didn't move when the light went green, he BLASTED an air horn as loud as a big rig (the car then moved... perhaps blasted forward)

Man ... I would live to have that horn !

a new horn was my 1st "mod" on my '02. I got one fron Moss MINI. I left the stock horn connected, so now it's reasonably loud.

These days I'm sure I'd get a cap in my a$$ for the stuff I did back then...

Hmmm... that rig is still in a box in my garage, I think...

Me either my '05 horn sounds like a normal horn. I wouldn't mind having something louder but I don't think my horn is wimpy at all

Hmmm have to think about that, one local down does have some good horns that scared the crap out of me I need to find out exactly what they use; PA isn't a bad idea ethier, but would probably get me into serious trouble....

I'm thinking soon; I've got good weeks and bad weeks, a bad week when I have the spare cash and inclination to do so, it'll be done.

I think the stock is too quiet to be used for safety purposes but too rude for me to use to say hi

It is a startlingly annoying sound - seems too much $$ to me though. Many have gone with the Stebel Nautilus. Its pretty popular on cruiser bikes, though I read about some reliability issues one of the biker forums. Some owners had failures after a year or so. Instead, I'm thinking about the Stebel TM80 Magnum. It's a Stebel Electromagnetic and has the same loudness as the Nautilus (139dBA), but a lower tone. Price is reasonable too.

Ive always wanted a horn with the tune from Dukes of Hazzard. The Dixie call or whatever it was called.

When I first got my car, I expected the horn to be wimpy, but was surprised that it sounded pretty normal to me . Now, my 65 beetle had a wimpy horn . If I got a loud one, I think I might want a "nice" button, too. There is enough road rage out there already.

The MINI horn is less wimpy than the the horn in our '04 Subaru - I think some folks are over compensating for something!
