I still can't find the "PLUG" for wiper delete

I have been to Home Depot and Lowes for this 1 1/8" plug, but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone help me? All my rear wiper does is collect dirt all day, and plus I want to connect the rear water pump to my Alta aftercooler.
thank you

I found mine at Lowes in the hardware section. They have drawers of special things, like clips, metric bolts, plastic washers, etc. I found it in that section. Plastic bag of 2.
good luck,

UKSUV Nov 18, 2006 09:25 PM

Listen Clownshoes....It's in the Mini Rear Wiper Delete section of the local ACE hardware store. That's the ONLY place I found it. Lowes and the Depot didn't carry it. But, hey....what do I know.:sly:

Dr Obnxs Nov 18, 2006 09:40 PM

Check Macmaster Carr or

other industrial supply firms. Might even be able to find it in chrome!

Matt

I found them at Home Depot and Lowes today. I found them in Black, White, and Chrome. I payed under a buck each. They were in the section where all the standard and metric bolts and nuts.

MarioKart can you post a picture of your mini with the wiper removed?

Here is a pic of the plug. There seems to be less dust now that the wiper is gone.

Hmmm, I've got a wiper stalk that doesn't have the outside knob for the rear wipers.............. I think I'll have to try this mod out and see if the stalk works

Honestly, I've never used the wiper, there's way too much grit on the back glass for me to dare try it :eek2: To many years of being around aircraft glass & Plexiglas.

mariokart- you're not a camera kinda guy are you? look at how you're
holding the camera! jk jk

that plug reminds of of the early civic hatchback standard model... the
DX/LX/Si came with rear wipers but the cheeze model had a plug just like
that.

LOL, I know I noticed the pic after I posted it and I was too lazy to take another one. It looks a bit gay. But any way I'm very happy with my new mod but I can't seem to stop getting the Alta sprayer to stop spraying everywhere. It is making a mess

I think I'll move the winged mini badge over the hole.

Hey justin how ae things going? I hope to be there in about three weeks. Since I bought the Mini in Sept I have been pulled over 9 times but only one ticket.

MCDriver Nov 20, 2006 12:18 PM

MarioKart, did you use any sealant with the plug?

Yeah, I used a water tight sealant made for window, that I bought at Lowes.
the whole mod including conecting the water tube to my Atla aftercooler took about 30mins.

You can do that, but it'll take a little work. The rear badge is a post mounted unit, so there are 2 posts on the badge and 2 holes on the deck lid.

It might look strange with 2 badges so close to each other. Now the lettering is a stick on application and easily removed.

I went to Lowes & that section of hardware was reduced to half an aisle...

I went to Ace & Home Depot & they only have 1" diameter...

It sure would be great if someone found a link to a Website that sold the 1.125" plug ; )

Check out the best parts place on the web

Search around for a finishing plug or plastic plug or something like that. You'll have to buy a 100 of them, butit could even be less then what HD charges for 1 package
