New Scoop, Grill, tinted lights:: Before and After PICS

Well I have been working on my mini a bit the past few weeks, and so far I have added a JCW Carbon Fiber hood scoop, an m7 ultimate black mesh grill, and I tinted the tail lights and the side reflectors. I had the car tinted a while back (it used to be darker but my parents made me make it a bit lighter), and I also added some black rims when I first got it.

What do you guys think? My next steps are to buy some 3M tape and blackout the chrome strip running across the midsection of the windows and the body. I have some red brake caliper paint, and when I get the time I'll paint em. I also am thinking about blacking out the third break light.. ? I am thinking about getting red mirror covers, but dont know if it would look good. What do you guys think of the chrome around the headlights? Does that clash with the CF hood scoop? Do you think I should get a decal to surround the scoop.. similar to the first car on miniusa.com?

I know so many questions.. but here are the pics:

haha my mom showed up in the pic sorry.

Omg, what an improvement! Looks fantastic! Now get a blackout kit!

Did the tail lights come out okay? Any troubles?

Thanks . Yea the lights came out pretty well. There are a few bubbles in each of them (less in the left because it was the second one I did).. but hopefully those will go away with time. The only real mess up is at the bottom of the right light there is a small tear and bump.. but it honestly isnt a huge deal.

From far away it looks perfect.. so I'm happy with it.

Looking good. Get some of those turn signals that look clear when off and yellow when on. http://www.bimmian.com/ sells these. Will get rid of the yellow in your turn signals when they're off.

stealth bulbs? I'll give it thought.. as long as they dont cost more than like 20 bucks.

I am thinking my car needs a little bit of color. The red brake calipers will help but it needs a cool decal or something..

Wow, that looks great! I say no to the red mirror caps - the black and silver is slick, and the red brake calipers would be enough.

I just had an amazing thought. The name of my car is Blue.. and I want to get a big decal (or those magnetic ones..? I dont know) of the word Blue.. written fairly large. I would put it on the driver's door. The catch is.. the word Blue is written in red letters. (to match the brake calipers obviously .

For those of you who dont understand why the name of my car is Blue.. its because Blue is a cool name, and it is very ironic because there is no blue on my car.

For those of you who still dont understand.. here is a depiction of what I am vaguely thinking of:

The "after" pics in your first post are great. I wouldn't change a thing (ok, maybe get the cooper black side grills to replace the MCS chrome ones with, especially if you're going to dechrome the beltline).

my car is confused why your car has the same name... but I'm digging the irony.

also... please god no with label. If I were you I'd go the other way and debadge the boot and not put any decals or anything on there. its nice and smooth and clean looking! the chrome headlight surrounds look best with PS also IMO.

hahah alright no on the label.

I have really wanted to debadge the car, but I hear that under the mini logo are holes that you cannot cover up. Of course I could take off the mini cooper s.. lets see how that would look:

Now that would look good. What about getting rid of the rear wiper too? I think if you debadged and scrapped the wiper it would really smooth out the back end.

And yeah... I'm going to have to agree... pass on the red name/label idea.

I agree about doing something with the headlight surrounds, either c/f or paint. The mention of going black with the side gill sounds good too. Nits aside, you've done a great job, it looks really good and well finished. Congrats!

I just debadged mine. Much cleaner look imo. There is a ghost image of "Cooper S" that stays there, I'm told until you wax it out, which I haven't done yet.

Besides that, it looks great man! I would debadge it, but the MINI logo you would have to fill the hole and paint over it, sand it, smooth it, etc. IE. cost a lot of money.

Sell, you can always take off the "Cooper" and put "Blue" in its place and it would say BLUE S. There is somewhere that you can get the chrome plastic letters that match pretty well with the font from MINI USA. Can't remember though. Go with the black side repeaters, get the Xenon like bulb package that makes all of the lights look like Xenon, black out the beltline, and basically de-chrome your baby. When I get my new MINI, I am going for the "sleeper" look. Good luck

Biminian has the chrome badge letters:

http://www.bimmian.com/MN

I'd go that way over a large decal or magnet, personally...

I usually don't like the m7 front upper grill but it looks great on your car. Very nice work I'd agree with some of the other guys that a blacked beltline and black side repeater housings would be the next step.

happy modding

Your car looks very cool. I agree with painting the brake calipers and lowering it would really bring some focus to your rims.

Nice work

My vote is: no red mirrors (instead maybe CF) and no Name on doors (better a black racing number and the MINI's name, or the name in the window)

Thanks for the suggestions and imput ! I am planning on buying some 3M tape today (maybe ace hardware?).

The Blue S idea is pretty cool.. but I think I'm going to end up just debadging it. I really like the look, great job polizei!

As for these side grills you guys are talking about.. could someone show me what you mean?

I was thinking I should get CF headlight rings, or maaybe black if the CF is too expensive. Any ideas? I have seen CF headlight rings around, but I heard they dont fit perfectly. I REALLY dont want to start using dremmel tools or anything.

And last question.. debadging! Any suggestions on how to do it?
