Looks great....i would definitely lower it some more.

I'm assuming those are 195s on 8s? Did you manage to find a set that had a high enough load rating? That has been my problem with the RM's that I'm refurbishing.

IMO - funniest thread/post I've read thus far. It was so funny, I read all 16pages - man I have too much time on my hands.

Words like shaved, poke, boser...if my wife saw what I was reading she'd think I was lurking **** sites again.

Funny people say lower it more when it's already on the ground. Needless to say, there is gap near the wheels, but the front plastic lip is literally on the ground. Wheels were already taken off cause I couldn't even back out a level driveway.

if that little under-lip thing is on the ground, cut it off. its just an air dam to keep you from getting too much air under the car at high speeds... as low as you are, i don't think it'll be a problem.

I already PM'd you, but for others who are thinking of going this route.....you can dremel off that weird drop down plastic lip thing. It makes 99% of all scraping noises. I believe that it was there for aerodynamic reasons....and worked nicely to warn you when you were going up a steep driveway.

Mine was literally dragging on the street so i cut it off and lowered the car a bit more. Havent scraped since then. Our engine, tranny and oil pan are recessed mighty deep up there....its not a problem like it is on some other cars. Unless of course you go offroading on the track or something

Rally mini, I pm'd you back. Once my car gets a little older........say over 1 year old, than maybe I'll think about starting to cut stuff off of it. But it's still to new.

Problem still is I bottom out on speed bumps though and where I currently live, I have to pass 4-5 speed bumps just to hit the main street.

ohhhh speed bumps can be hard....I just avoid them at all costs. Luckily none of my required routes have any.

bringing thread back. My car is not euro really by any means as the wheels are 18" but it is quite low.

From when these pictures were taken the car has been lowered more which i wll take some photos of and post up as well.

My wheels are 18x7.5 with a et43 offset at the back and et33 offset at the front.
Coilovers are down alot now compared to the photos and about half the tyre front and back is in the arches.

I had to cut a bit of the wheel arch lining off as well as trim back the arch to stop scrubbing but it is getting there, going to lower another 5mm over the weekend and post more pictures.

I love the euro look though, i would love a mk2 golf to do up.

Hey Caster, what kind of suspension are you running for it to sit that low in the front? Or is because your wheels and tires are small. It's a sweet looking car.

Casters red one is pure hotness. Tho 16" RS would look even more slick I think!

Not sure but my front sits just as low running 205/40/17 dumped on Bilstein PSS9's. Still not low enough for me.

Caster's car looks sick but I agree that it should go lower.

Rally why don't you post up your Clubby to bring this thread back.

Yah, lots of caster's low came from the small tire diameter.

I think he was on H&R....but i might be wrong.

word

The stretch and poke. They would poke more if it weren't for all the camber They're 16x8 et33.....time some bigger lips to get them to 16x9.

The shaving

Just a sheet of raw ABS fused with the plastic adhesive that bodyshops use to fix plastic bumpers.

I have the whole writeup and pictures in my MU lineup thread...around page 12 or 13.

I had the 18's off last week for a quick cleanup and had the 15's on for the week. The car would have been as low as the red one definately with alot of room in the arch still.

I still have 12 turns on the front and 9 on the back with my coilovers.

They are being put down more this week with the 18's on, i will also post pictures of my cutting of the arch lining and the arch itself lol
