Slammed MINI, what to think about? (Skid plate?)

I just got some H&R coilovers and I wanna drop it pretty low, something like this blue one below. What should I think about except driving slooooowly over speed bumps at an angle? Do I need a skid plate? Wich one? Has anyone made their own? I mean it shouldn't be too hard to DIY.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: the picture in the signature is my car but it's not that low, right now at least, it's a photochop.

Moss carries a Cobalt skid plate. You're pretty low there, it may be worth the $139.
Search for others here, I have seen posts on this before.

How much of a drop is that blue one running? That looks pretty low...if you want to go really low why not just get airbags?

cause airbags can't handle anywhere near as well as coils. The blue one is running coils with a pretty decent drop.

I'm going to be running that low once coilover weather permits. I feel that the cobalt or mini mania skidplates are a nice security just in case something gets under there.

I have the cobalt after I had an "incident" on my MC. I didnt have any damage but was inches away from disaster, so having it on my MCS is well worth the piece of mind. Its a sturdy piece, though your front bumper will be a tad bit lower than the plate and still be damaged before anything reaches the skid plate.

East, your MINI looks fantastic! I love the Cos upgrade, did you go with a stage 2? The 2 inch drop looks good too.

My ride

Polizei

It has the Cosworth stage 4 with everything you can think of without the bottom end It tranformed the MCS to a different sound, performance fighting machine. There isn't any car sound even close to this setup

It helps to be the Hawaii M7 rep showcase this products

Thanks for the compliment on the coilover setup

Thanks! Any other plate? Hasn't anyone tried cutting one, I don't think it should be too hard?

I would definitely use one. I would get the aluminum skid plate (9 lbs) instead of the steel one. I have the heavier one which I got for $40 and I am going to draw a template out of it. It feels like it weighs 50 lbs! Anyways, I just realized that is you from E46Fanatics.

Yup, first in the US if not the first for a MINI ever, can't remember. I read over on MINI2 that he's dropped on H&R coilovers and his rims have the exact same measurments as mine, 18x7.5" ET45, and he's running 215/35/18.
