bluzeke's INTERIOR TWEAKS

Well, yesterday marked the end of week 1 with my new MINI. All in all, things are good and my commute to and from work remains the highlight of the day. A few minor frowns - bought my first tank of premium gas (ouch! ), the rear hatch latch has balked a few times, giving me a warning light to get back out and slam-it damnit!, and the cabin developed a mystery "buzz" at about 3000 rpm's under acceleration - turns out it's the e-brake button. So, I guess I'll keep my eye on these little things and use them as an excuse down the road to get to know my Service Manager a little better - but not TOO well I hope.

Got around to adding a few interior touches I'd planned so let's see what you folks think.

Figured if I added a little more RED in the cockpit I might be more inclined to SLOW DOWN!

I like your additions. You remind me of when I got my car. @ about 100 miles I had a Alta CAI on the car lol

Dude, are those painted? Or rings added on?

Looks pretty sweet in any case

or photoshopped? interesting idea, it matches the other parts quite well, did the color from one of the seven circles inspire you? now what about adding a red steering wheel ?

Looks absolutely amazing. I applaud your sense of style and ability to think of something no one else has :thumbsup:

Looks great and I've been planning on doing my gauge surrounds in body color for a while. Interested if you bought "chrome" and painted them or took off the existing ones and let them have it.

I say two thumbs up :thumbsup:

I think that your interior is extremely well done and not overdone like some of the others I've seen. Excellent work, it goes perfectly with the piano dash and the dark environment created by the anthracite headliner and the red/black seats.

Please tell us how you did the sections of the rings?!?!

I remember when I got my car, I added a pilo intake with only a few miles on the car lol! I took the car home and put it on as soon as i could. Being that I only live 10 miles from the dealer.

The instrument cluster rings came from our good friends at Mini Mania. They come in a couple other flavors and the quality is very nice, though a bit pricey. They fit directly over the bare gauges and vents with an adhesive backing. Very simple.

I like how bluzeke gives us two threads of pics, nothing else, and we ask questions until someone figures it out.

. . . now, now muggy . . . I subsequently provided the answer in both threads. I can point you in the right direction, but isn't it really more gratifying if you drive there yourself?

i actually do think it is more gratifying, not only to myself, but to this board as a whole. It is the community here that really drew me into buying this car, that and one enthusiastic NorCal Mini member.

All joking aside, ride looks sweet man. I envy.

Nice mods for an already Crappy car!!

(and in case you dont know what I mean and are offended... the JCW owners have started a group called "team Craptastic")

I DO know what you mean and I'd love to join the team! As one with about the best name on this board, Queen NEB. , I bow before you and say, you are NOW the Queen, not LATER!
