Airbags, 05's, and JCW seats

Okay I did search but couldn't find the exact answer.

A buddy and I are worknig on getting sets of the JCW alcantara seats shipped from the EU to us here. Yeah I know very pricy shipping, but willing to pay the premium to have a very rare mod in the US.

My question is that we both have 05's with all the requsite airbags including the pressure sensor for the passenger seat. Has anyone figured out how to fool the computer for this? I know adding a resistor will get around the airbag warning light, but what about the sensor so that the passenger side bag isn't deactivated?? My wife isn't too keen on losing her front impact protection. I know the dealer is willing to program all the bags off, but I am not excited about this either.

Anyway, does someone have an answer for this one? Also, what resistor is required for the dash light warning circuit??

Thanks,
Joel

Cool, thanks a lot!

I used two 10ohm resistor wired in parallel and it worked like a charm.

I also cut the adaptor off since I don't plan on using the stock seats but just in case I have the clips stored safely.

Btw the JCW seats are straight up leather, not alcantara, right? I think Alcantara is the suede-like material, no?

Just curious... how much i it costing you to get them? A friend of mine travels to GB quite often and was thinking of bribing her to pick upi a set.

They are leather. Never seen them in alcantara......Alcantara is suede which is wrapped on my new Torino's.

There are JCW seats in alcantara, they are listed on realoem.com. I just never saw them fitted so if anyone has a photo...the best I found was the cloth ones and a very small photo of the alcantara ones.

AZMCS, do you have a photo?

Alcantara is NOT suede. It is a "faux" suede if you will, and is very expensive at $100/yard. Just clarifying...

Hey Joel...Many people usually cut a small incision in the seat and place the sensor in there from the old seats...you could do that....
