Would you be kind enough to tell me a little about how you mounted the large driving lights? I'm not crazy about putting them on the bonnet itself, and since I'm looking for fog lights, I'd like to have them down lower where you put yours. I'm curious how you made the brackets.

I think he said he had custom made brackets.

Excellent! I believe those might just do the trick. I appreciate your help, and all the knowledge and experience that one can find on this forum.

One of the perks of owning a MINI !

I've got a set of those on my MINI and I really like them. Very well made, easy to install once you've got the bumper cover off, and notably stable.
They've got the Spunky Seal of Approval.

If it's good enough for a tuna, it should be good enough for a frog.
