you need a shrink-a-lator. and when you find the shrink-a-lator, let me know if they make a re-big-a-lator.

doom, why not go with the Cooper's 15-inch holeys? They're pretty retro and very light, as well! :grin:

my mommy and daddy used the shrink-a-lator on me... i want to find a big-a-lator... not a re-big-a-lator, since they never made me big.

I like the Minilites also but just about everyone runs them (for good reason of course).

what made you think that i expected you to put vw wheels on a mini? wierd.

seriously though, you could go onto any of the many classic mini parts sites and buy all sorts of graphics and badges to rebadge. and if you check the classic mini forum i think there was a thread detailing actual classic mini colors if you wanted to get really serious about it. and, i agree, the 16" mini lites would be a great start!

those are external door hinges from early mini's. you can get those at the classic mini sites as well, you could modify them to work just for looks. that would be cool.

doombuggy... i could send you an old copy of MiniWorld if you want (even though you called me an a-hole.) :razz:

Or you could make it LOOK like the external hinges, with no real benefit, to save time and money :P

it'd look more classic with the body around the windows... instead of our new ones where it's like ALL glass.

There was a MINI early on that had fake external hinges pasted on the car. They were nicely done, but, in the end, really looked out of place. Minilites are a good, classic option for MINI wheels...I really don't see that many real Minilites at all. 7-hole wheels are a very good OEM option. Another question...could a front and rear (w/ chrome bumper strips) from a Cooper be fitted on an MCS?? Chrome grill is a must of course. Beyond that, go cheeky w/ some nice retro graphics....maybe MC40 styled.

There is no difference in hwy rpms between the different wheel sizes at indicated speeds. There's only a fractional difference between the actual speed you travel on a factory 15 & the speed you would have been travelling on a factory 17 (only ~ 0.2" size difference, anyway).

The relationship between engine speed and you speedometer remains unchanged in either case. Using the speedo you absolutely cannot tell the difference.

And in reality the speed you're travelling is being misreported by the speedo anyways.

if i wanted to make my new MINI look like a classic, to start would be minilite style wheels... AC schitzer kit as it has the one piece grille... it'd be great if i can get that giant grille in chrome... then add spotlamps, i think you are half way there!

Anybody know the weight of Minilites??? Are they......well, lite??? 16s would be my choice!:thumbsup:

I've always found the Schnitzer front body kit disturbing...the grill area is too big, oddly shaped, and (in part) cosmetic only. The accentuated bumpers are nice, though...it'd be nice to have some chrome overlays for those (similar to the bumper strips on "older" Coopers).

I dont think I want to weld things onto the body lol, I dont want to go that hardcore.

good ?, I was actually wondering that, Im pretty sure I want a chrome grill...
I like the chrome stuff but I dont wanna go over board and prob just a few things here and there, keep it looking factory.
