Getting painted lip kit? change over from the gray plastic
I have a 2004 BRG mini and i would like to know whats the way to go about getting the lips all the way around painted green to match or do i just buy a aero kit from somewhere and replace what is already there?
See the gray, that is what ide like to change over and just make it all green like the rest of the car.
Excuse my ignorance if the answer is right infront of my face (new to Mini)

So it is possible to just have the current plastic painted?
Does the paint look good. Or is it one of those depends on the prep work and how well the shop does.
Cause i see that it is textured and im assuming most people go with a lot of sanding down to go with a smooth surface?
The Aero kit is nice but im still a fan of just the normal S,aero pieces.
Thanks again fellers

yes. it all depends on the prep work. if there was any type of sealant or wax or anything that was put on the plastic then they require a bit more work than brand new ones.
but you can take off almost all black trim pieces except i think the front bumper part on the sides and im not sure about the front and same goes with the back.
but you can always try going to a paint shop and ask them for an estimate and ask them questions about how they would prep it and wat not.
im a fan of the aero kit..but i dont have the money..
so probably just gonna go with painting the trim pieces.

Minspeed sells painted arches and trim pieces. More expensive than going to a body shop but probably more fun if you like to do your own mods. They also sell matched color spray paint if you want to get the arches and the front and rear corner trim pieces then prep and paint the front and rear bumper pieces +/- the side skirts (less noticeable with a less than professional paint job). You could get the aero kit later if you want to spend the money.
