Seat Airbag Resistor Question - Need Quick Answer for This Weekend

Has anyone installed aftermarket seats and sucessfully used a Radio Shack 3.3 OHM 1/2 WATT resistor. OR
Had a problem with the airbag light coming on and tried the battery disconnect procedure to reset it (disconnect battery, add jumper between + & - cables and turned on ingnition to "drain" the system)? I am installing my Sparco Milano this weekend and was going to insert the resistor before taking out the seat to see if it works. If the light stays on and the disconnect battery trick does not work then I can run down to my dealer to have it reset (the plug came loose - honest. Installing a resistor - what me - no way ).
