Problem with Sneed Billy Club Install
I'm posting here and in "Drivetrain" in hopes someone can offer a solution. Instructions are to heat it in hot water so I put that sucker in a pan of hot water on top of the stove to heat it up...Still couldn't even get it started on the shifter shaft. Tried hitting it with a rubber mallet...No help. Really afraid that, if I got it on, I'd never get it off. What am I missing here? This isn't "Rocket science"!

I had to heat mine in boiling water and tapped it on with a small ball peen hammer. When I replaced it with a billet aluminum S4S knob I had to cut the delrin version off. The billet versions use set screws to mount. If you have a CravenSpeed adjustable Short Shifter you can use a threaded version. IIRC on my R56 with the CS shifter I used the knob made for a Mustang. Bottom line, if you use the press fit,... if you have plans to remove and sell at a later date, fuggedaboutit!

Thanks for the info., vetsvette...suspicions confirmed. I think I may resort to reaming out the hole a few thousandths to make this a snug fit but not "permanent".

Thumper, that's just about the size of it!

Just heard from Sneed. Apparently, some Billy Clubs were drilled with the wrong size hole. Replacement on the way.

Good to hear. In my experience Chris has always been easy to deal with.
