question about aftermarket seat install.

So ive done some searching online for the last 24 hrs and nothing is coming up so im hoping that some one might be able to help me on here. Im looking at putting some seats in my r53, but im unsure is i can mount them like i could in one of my old integras or civics (oem slider, long rail, seat). With r53 can you reuse the OEM rails and attach the long sparco type rails ( like this https://www.corvettemods.com/C5-C6-C...saApeZEALw_wcB ) or do you have to go more of the whole setup with univeral slider ( like http://i16.tinypic.com/2guh05l.jpg ) and then long rail?

Not sure about the Corbeau seats, but I know Sparco makes sliders that will fit their seat bases for the 1st and 2nd Gen. I had to modify the Sparco bases to fit my F56, and I am using Sparco seats so not sure how much help the info is.

the other option is go with the NRG frp 300 which are supposidly FIA approved aswell but havnt seen it from FIA or from NRG, just word of mouth. i really dont wanna do Bride Vios II reps but there is that option as well. both those i can walk out the door with around 550~.

reason for swapping them is due to what i call "fatman" rip has destored the driver seat to a point where every so often it stabs me in the rib. the previous over that i bought it from was maybe 300lbs and well the cars 15 years old. so i just need to replace the seat and be done. wanna do both fronts and not just the driver but could do that aswell. didnt really wanna spend more than 650 with rails and shipped

This is the prototype bar that Sneed4Speed made for the F56. It's a 4 point bar w/harness bar. It's NASA and SCCA legal. I retained the stock belt for driving around town.

I know this is slightly off topic, but how did you deal with the airbags and seat pressure sensor in the passenger seat? I have a set of OPM seats I want to install but I am not sure what to do with those. My MINI will remain a street car.

For your 2004 ? ( posted in 1st Gen but also see you have a 2012. ) If correct, the pass seats didnt have pressure sensors until 2005. That said, you only need resistors for the seat airbags to fool the control module into thinking the bags are still connected..

Ya, I know this was a Gen I post, but I thought that vetsvette's post showed a Gen II MINI. Hence noting that my question was a bit off topic. It is not very often that there are posts about someone tackling the challenges of putting replacement seats into a MINI. I thought a question concerning a Gen II in this thread wouldn't be too far off topic and could be discussed here, which might be helpful to to others. If it is too far off topic, hopefully vetsvette has some links to share instead of posting everything here.

Either way, I am still interested in seeing how these sort of mods come out...
