unknow rear wing

Does anyone know which wing this is? I know its partly the oranje wing but the base part has fins. I can't seem to find the name of it or where to get it.

That's the earlier Fubrication wing with the optional finned filler piece. The updated version has only been available through a crowd funding preorder a few times lately, but I don't think the filler piece was offered. Here's an old offering: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/g...r53-r56-mini#/

The fit and finish wasn't great, but I'm happy with the wing overall. Mine had large gaps between the bracket and the hatch which need to be filled with spacers. Also, the wing itself is a little wavy. They're not shown in the indiegogo picture, but there are small covers that stick on the end plate which make it look like the wing comes through the end plates. I thought it looked better to leave them off.

Pic of installed wing wrapped with white vinyl and satin black painted end plates, minus the optional screw cover trim pieces. I didn't have black screws at the time.

Wow! I wasn't expecting all that. Thank you for the in depth info. I tried contacting fubrication without any luck :( Sucks about the fitment but it looks great.

The finned piece was only offered for R53's and is no longer made by anyone. I saw one up for sale recently used but that's your only chance, and even then, only fits R53.

Good point about 1st and 2nd differences. You can use a regular Cooper trim piece on the hatch since the 2nd gen wings are a complete panel that unbolts from the hatch. On the 1st gen S you're left with holes without the wing so I plugged them with the finned covers that come with the JCW spoiler.

Also, the pics above are from my R53. Not sure if I just got a bad piece, but since the wing fits both generations the 2nd gen might have the same issue.

i have a opportunity to buy one of these, mine is r56 and just was wondering what happens to the opening of 3 mounting spots after i remove the original spoiler is there something to cover them or the spoiler stays on.
thanks
Ben

You have to get a base Cooper spoiler to fit behind the wing. Or are you talking about the finned piece?

Bnourai 11-21-2017 11:24 AM

No i am talking about the spoiler that is on gen 2 S will that just stay on or it will be removed.if it has to be removed what happens with 3 holes?
thanks
also can this spoiler be warped in carbon wrap?

Kalibdor 11-21-2017 11:34 AM

You have to replace the entire S spoiler with a base cooper spoiler in order to be able to fit the aftermarket Fubrication/Orranje wing. I guess you could go without the cooper spoiler but it wouldn’t look very good. The winged part of the S spoiler can’t just be taken off. You have to swap the whole thing.

thank you very much. that answered my question. so i have to look for the justa cover, now looking for one begins. what should i look for?

I found mine on the marketplace here when I did it. Often there are Cooper owners wanting to switch out to a Cooper S spoiler, so in my case I just did an even trade with the guy. Given both our roofs were white, it worked out. A new primed Cooper spoiler is around $300 (part #51622753756) so the trade option will definitely be your cheapest option.

Thats a great looking wing.

posted in the market place, see if i get a bite.

i was just asked if the r50 will work on r56..

RB-MINI 11-21-2017 05:04 PM

I think there was only one wing from FUbrication for the R50, R53 and R56. I've also seen pics of their GP wing mounted on a Countryman, but I'm not sure if it needed any modifications.

The optional, add-on diffuser panel probably only works on the 1st gen out of the box.
