Why doesn't the T&C System Base not Fit?

Okay so I wanted a place to hang my suit jackets on a daily basis in my new Mini Cooper S Convertible (2017 or F57). So I ordered the Mini Cooper Travel & Comfort System Base & Hook for my headrest. The items came and I went to install them only to find that the base was not long enough by at least half an inch. The part I was sent is #51952354325. And it says on several sites that it is compatible with my car, but it's not. I did some reach online and it appears that there is a similar part, #51952354323. I wondering if that one is longer and if it would actually fit my car. Anyone run into this and anyone know the difference between the two parts? Is the #51952354323 longer than the #51952354325?

Just an FYI, the part #51952354323 fits the 2017 Mini Cooper S Convertible.
