invisishield/paint protection film question

couple questions about these

miniusa has upper lower and fog lights for 260 not including install

local shop will do the same with 4Mil thick Clear Urethane film (“Crystal Shield by T&T” – Crystal Clear Paint Protection Film) for around 600 total

now the questions are. How much of a difference does having this installed make? How good of quality and thickness is the mini invisishield? And if anyone in Hawaii has the T&T crystall shield any complaints about it our the T&T shop?

to have it installed by a someone who knows what there doing is always a good thing, you could try to do it yourself if you want but i also dont know what kind of auto experience you have. its a pretty difficult putting the clear bra on, believe me i think it hard enough watching the pro's do it. it all about going from the out side of the car in for some reason. i work for bmw seattle were we take all of our cars to a company called accutint, they do awesome jobs but i have seen how they do it and it look hard, so good luck either way.

i have no interest in doing the tint or invisishield install myself from searching the forums and checking another website sounds like its way to intensive for what i want to try.

Still hoping for information on how effective these guards are.

MINI does not actually do this themself. Each dealer has a local clearbra installer come out and apply it when the car arrives. Chances are it's the same one other dealers and people recommend in your area. Here in boston they're all done by Autobahnd. It ran me $500 for everything and looking at other MINIs, worth every penny.

I installed mine, actually. No prior experience. You need patience to
install this...it's a little tricky, but it's pre-cut making it so much easier
than the generation before us that had to cut while they installed...

If you're planning to get aftermarket bumper or aero bumper painted
locally, you will want to invest in the clear bra. aftermarket paint chips
so easily. Since the clearbra, I have no more chips.

You will want to wax (polymer is best) the bra at least once a month.

We outsource a company that applies X-Pel at our store, and I've been pretty impressed with it actually. I haven't sold their product long enough to actually admit it'll last in the long run, but I know they have a 5 year and $1000 paint protection warranty, so that's always good.

The installation process is very similar to that of vinyl (properly applied vinyl that is), so you'll need quite a bit of patience, with little room for error which can be very frustrating
