R53 aftermarket tachometer

Hi guys,

looking to install an aftermarket sun pro tach with shift light in my 2002 R53.
Why?? you say…..It is a track only car, and the factory tach is in a rotten place for me to see it.

Anyone know if there is an ECM terminal with an aux tach output?

I tried using one of the 2 driver wires for the coil, and that did not work.

any suggestions?

Most aftermarket ones I have seen, use a sensor, basicly a coil, that you ran the Sparkplug wire through...then just a setting in the tack for the number of cylinders....and you are good to go!!

r53 tach

i have a sun pro that i acquired cheap - just curious if i can make it work.
another cheap way out would be to move the factory tach too. That ain't hard, but no shift light.

not familiar with scangague
