Mine literally dont weigh anything :-p Fixed race buckets , You get more props now knowing you took on this en-devour. I think your're the only female with aftermarket seats in her r56, Not sure but i know i havent seen any others and ive seen tons.

The task seemed so big when the idea first came about but at the end of the day, you're right.. Find seats, buy brackets, sliders, throw'em all together along with some resisters and oh yeah, rip out your sensor.

I guess for a guy, the seats weigh nothing and its all a "sinch".

But mOre importantly, your thread here was very helpful in the process!
Whhaaaaaaa?? You got a killer deal on the brackets! Is there anyway you could post a picture of how they mount to the rails? Im very curious to see what you came up with.

Thats a fresh Louis V by the way

nice work! though I think a harness would pay more dividends than a seat.. gonna try the schroth quick fit on the stock seats, see how that works

So to be put simply:
1. take out old seats
2. pull weight sensors out
3. put them into the recaros
4. weld 3x1 inch steel to base of recaros with a mounting hole
5. soldier in resistors
6. mount recaros,
7. voila, better seats?

how did you do the resistors?
I have come across a great set of evo x seats in leather for a steal. I like you hate the factory JCW seats.

I decided to go with seats because I simply could not deal with how the stock ones made my back ache on long trips. Plus the stock bolsters (if thats what you even want to call them) are a joke.

The way I did it was a little more complicated because I just hacked up the stock evo brackets and called it a day. If i were to go back and do it again I would pick up a set of the universal recaro mounting L shaped brackets off of ebay and mount those to the stock sliders somehow. As for the resistor here is the thread I used as my guide before I embarked on this adventure, it gives a little more detail then what I can remember off the top of my head: http://www.*********************/for...#axzz2sQTcmmO0
Edit: the link is to the alliance of motoring so it doesnt work but if you put in that name in place of the stars it should work

I would assume seat heaters could be transferred as well?

Hi all,

Bit of an old thread revival here but I was wondering if there is a need to swap over the weight sensor to the Recaro's? could you instead disable the sensor or can you leave it as an open circuit so it simply thinks there is no weight in the seat?
