well, the graphics were completed long ago and at this point we would not be able to do a variant of the design without making a big mess...

I purchased a used Tach to test the needle removal and did get it off but I don't think it would work correctly again. It feel like it has tight spots in its rotation now.

The Tach, as you must have found out is the same isn't it? I had to rotate it up against its stop and pull at the same time.
The only thing I did not try was a hairdryer to heat the plastic before removing it, with something between the needle and the Tach face to stop heat transfer to the Tach.

Held the needle with my left hand. In my right hand, used a flat head screwdriver to put underneath the needle base. Then, while pulling up with the screwdriver, twist the screwdriver in a clockwise and/or counterclockwise motion so it acts like a wedge. The needle will "pop" off.
Hoping I get permission to use the video. It's very helpful explaining how to do it.

Either way - They still look great, and I'm still super happy with them.

Looks like I need to get the intestinal fortitude to try getting the tach needle off, again. but this time on the tach in my vehicle.
When I tried it with a sacrificial junkyard tach I wrecked it trying to get the needle off and I am sure it will never work properly, if at all, ever again. There are tight spots in the rotation now. I am inclined applying heat, like hair dryer or low setting heat gun, to the needle before trying to lift/pry it off, all the while using a heat blanket material to keep heat off the tach.
Did anyone try this method??
Did Outmotoring Post a "How To" video?

Did you guys completely remove the speedo to change? If not, how did you remove the piece in the photo. On the countryman it is behind the clear cover and I am trying to figure out if I can replace gauge face without removing the speedo. Also, I found that once you change the face, plug the tach in, it will reset and you can see if the needle is where it should be. I actually plugged the tach in, then put the needle on, checked and reassembled the tach. Is the speedo I am trying to figure out.
