OEM Driving Light Parts/Prices
Does anyone know the parts needed for the MINI OEM driving lights? I'm interested in attempting it as a weekend project, but all of the local dealers keep telling me that I need a software update afterwards so its not eligible as a DIY project. Is this true? I didn't think it was. Same dealer is telling me I need a software update after the JCW steering wheel install as well so I have a tough time believing them.
Also, do the lights have to be wired to the high beams? If so, what is the purpose of this switch I'm told I need to buy?
Sorry for the ton of questions, but this project is confusing the heck out of me.
Thanks in advance!

Yep, quite simple:
* Chrome Driving light set: 63210420292
OR Black Driving light set: 63120417885
* Brackets and Grill Set (part number based on car model): 63130427569 or 63130422706 or 63120422704
* Knee Guard with Switch: see RealOEM.com or PenskeParts.com for your needed color
(Head to 63-Lighting --> Installing Set Additional Head Light)
What? What kind of software is needed for a tapped wiring harness...?
Again, that too seems like rubbish.
The "factory / dealer" installation has the driving light activate only with the high beams.
But you can simply by-pass the trigger wire and use the switch in the knee guard to turn them on as you please.
If you're good with an electrical multimeter, you'll have no trouble with the modification.

Haha, I'm handy, but wiring is not my thing. Wish you lived nearby, I'd be more than happy to drive over for some help and pay in beer/whiskey/drink of choice.
Thanks for the input though. Did sound like a a bit much from the dealer, especially the number of hours they quoted for labor.
