Blacking out-tape, plastidip....?

So I blacked out my belt line with outmotoring's tape....then drove to a tradeshow in Vegas where my CM sat outside, baking in 112 * heat for five days. The beltline got all melty and bubbly, and basically looks like ****. Rather than re-doing it and having it melt (dunno when I'll ever be in that heat again), I was wondering if anyone's used plastidip or another method, and if it has NOT gotten melty/bubbly in extreme heat.
Looking for a good alternative as the beige is showing through now (ripped that chrome right off)
Thanks!:eek2:

I initially had the same tape (from outmotoring), then switched to the 3M vinyl electrical tape and found the result to be satisfactory. First, it's cheaper but more importantly, it seems more sturdy (if that's an apt description) than the outmotoring version and also comes off very easily. Little side note: I attempted to wrap it with a "snug" look (cut exactly and tucked under the plastic frame of beltline), but this caused the tape to shrink and now the chrome parts are showing at the ends. I'm planning to redo later today.
