Are you freaking KIDDING me!? A cheap little temperature gauge and installation for $1250???
Obviously I'm not that much of a fool to do it at the dealer, so can someone point me to a good temperature gauge that I can have Mini Corsa add on?
Thanks much!

Bump...
I'm kinda interested in doing so also. Had a little scare last week with the thermostat housing going bad, and didn't even know the car was almost gonna over heat. So any advice would be appreciated.

If you happen to have a droid phone already, download the torque app, then get the wireless bluetooth adaptor from amazon for 35 bucks and you will have alot more guages and choices of set ups with no wires and a 5 minute setup

Thanks for the tip - this is a cool idea and a simple solution to our gauge issue.
Which bluetooth adapter are you using? This one? Besides what I see in your pictures, what sort of readings can you get with that app?
That is the adaptor I am using, as for the App, there is more then one, I am using the torque version, there is a free one, but I went with the one you pay for.
I cant even count how many reading your get, the version I have not only give's you the cars readings, it gives you 0-60 times, quarter mile times, 3 different types of displays, either graph, digital or Dial, many different types of colors and you can arrange them anyway you want. I am still learning with all it can do. I had the scanguage before, but I like this better

I am pretty sure you don't have to have the Bluetooth option. The adapter sends out a Bluetooth signal and an iphone or similar device picks up the signal up.
The adaptor is a bluetooth device it plugs into the OBD11 port and then the phone reads it, so far I have not had any problems with it
Hey guys, couple of questions. I am trying to find a good iPhone app that is like the Torque app.
The only results I have come up with are the Rev and Dashcommand app.
I have read both bad and good reviews for both and don't know what to get. Does anyone have any experience with either of these apps?
Also, as long as the Bluetooth adapter is ELM 327 will it work with both of these apps? Thanks

I know Rev has a free lite version that at least shows what it can read from your device, so try that to at least see what the full one would be capable of showing.
Otherwise on the more enthusiast racer end of the spectrum, there's an app called Harry's LapTimer (and LapTimer Pro) that seems to be able to do some other cool stuff (lap timing, GPS mapping and tracking your speed and G-forces) but I don't think it has basic gauges like the others.
I turn on the torque App first, then I turn on my Bluetooth for the phone, I have had zero problems using both
Prosport Gauges
I've got a Prosport coolant temp gauge and boost gauge on my Mini. Install and price of the gauges came to less than $500.00. They look good and I've had no trouble with them.
Even tho I have the bluetooth setup and had the Scanguage prior, I would have to agree with you, nothing beats a true Analog guage. But when you still want the information and are not all worried about how it looks, the Scanguage, Torque and Iphone app are a good second choice IMO
2011mcs gauges
I put a PLX WiFi OBD2 sending unit in and use an i-Phone 4 for the gauges in my 2011mcs. Battery time in the phone is limited so it needs to be plugged into the aux power. It still does NOT have an oil pressure gauge!!!!
Putting in an engine coolant temp gauge is easy with a manual transmission and is still possible with an automatic transmission. Check out my link for my 2009mc.

On the 2011 MCS engines the oil sending units are located in a different place and not sure how the Cravenspeed Tapless Adapters will work.
