Interior/Exterior Roof Rack Base...Easy to Install/Remove?

That sure sounds easy and is what I expected from the description.
My dealer though, who must have been mistaken when they said it, told me they want $1k for them with installation. I asked how that could possibly be since the description says they "come off easily" and just from looking at them you can see that there's no way it would take their guys more than 10 minutes (if that) to install them. They're checking on it.

Doesn't matter though, she's not getting my business anyway.

My MA and I installed them when I picked up the MINI. It was only 5 minutes including unpacking and looking over the directions. They give you a little hex head torque wrench to tighten them down. I put little marks on the inside of the rail so I know exactly where to put them back. I install for taking the kayak to the shore and take them off after.
It is very easy and if your dealer charges to install them they should be ashamed and then shot.

NOTE : the rails are EASY to install and remove.
As stated above, it takes 1 person about 5 minutes to accomplish.
Tip: "Snug up" all four clamps equally prior to fully tightening each one using the tool provided with the rails.
Bicycle Lift $299.00 is 82 72 0 142 733
Racing Bike Holder, lockable $139.95 is 82 72 0 393 083
Touring Cycle Holder, lockable $145.95 is 82 11 2 149 553
My 2 cents - go buy one at a local bicycling shop for le$$.
NEVER pay a dealership installation fee! (Sorry dealerships, but c'mon - you charge to install a REMOVABLE roof rack???)

Mine were $250, no charge for installation (my MA was doing it himself when I arrived). They came off in about 2 minutes when I got home. I don't want to leave them on when I don't need them because I want to maximize gas mileage.
At a different dealership, they gave me a line about how they had to install them for them to be included in the warranty, even if I planned to take them off in the parking lot of the dealership after our business was included. I don't think they were planning on charging for installation, but we didn't get that far, so I can't be sure.

Why not? I know Inno makes a universal wind fairing that suppose to fit any factory rack, you can also usually either get adapters, or rig the Yak or Thule fairings to fit any bar.

Fondriest? Nice... Rockymounts? Score!
To the OP, the rack is "easy enough" to take off and put on, but I still can't get the rear crossbar to the position I want without first placing it more forward then, inching it back until it won't slide any more.
It like the rails narrow as you go toward the back of the car, and the rear crossbar is too wide... At least for me. I think everyone else that's posted a picture is fine.
