Help!! Can't remove front lights.... spinning bolt

Bolts on the outside bottom are spinning the housing they screw into .......... actually only on the driver's side. On the passenger side, looks like the PO melted it out of the bracket. The bolt screws into a locked nut (?!!) that looks to be housed in a plastic bracket. The back end of the bolt that goes through the bolt corrodes and then cannot be backed out without stripping the plastic ........... thus the whole thing ends up being a rotating mess.

I tried looking on REALOEM.com for a replacement plastic bracket/nut but there's NOTHING there. Anyone who may have a clue what I'm talking about and knows of a part number, I'd appreciate the help.

I'd take a picture but it's late .............. dark outside and I'm tired as shyt. No Joey Mod for me this weekend ........ at least not until I clean this all up.

Something besides 11, 12, 13 in this diagram? Think you'll have to post a pic.

See the combination of 11/12/13........... it's what that bolts into.

I spent more then an hour on REALOEM.com and went through all the files. Found nothing for the receiving end of that bolt............... which is not to say I may have missed it somewhere. :impatient:

Hey Tominizer,

I have an extra set of lights and the housing. I had a botched Joey mod -long story you can read all about here (look for my posts towards the end of the thread): https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...y-mod-r56.html

Mine are the halogen type of light, yet if they share the same housing I'd be happy to send you the exterior case to my light -you just pay for the shipping. Please take a photo or send me one so I can better understand what your looking for and if what I have will help you. ...maybe you can even fabricate something from my housing, or cut a portion of my housing and add to yours? ....let me know.

-eric.

Thanks but the nut is actually on the rad support............ how stupid is that ?!??!?!?

I was at the stealership with the service guy and one of the mechanics. They know of this issue. Most of the time they put the gun on this bolt and *giver* ......... that heats up and melts it out. And then they don't replace it. The light is actually firmly held in with only 3 of the 4 bolts.

That being said, I'm in the process of looking to rig up an alternative solution........... stay tuned !!!

no problem, ...sorry what I have doesn't help you out.
That sucks about the spinning bolt ....good luck.
