Ive just got the Alta Boost and Water packages.

IMO dont get them. You can go to Prosport if you like the gauges (there are better out there), and then get the Cravenspeed mounts or probably any other. These plastic cups are held by one screw each on the back, and tend to loosen up.

I have the same Alta setup (except my boost is on the left, water temp on the right) and they haven't loosened up at all. It's only been a little over 6000 miles though and I didn't use the bolts that came with the Alta package. I took out the originals from the tach and bought the same, just a little longer. Alta provided a huge screw that I wasn't going to put in my tach.

I don't have the gauge hoods on though. Maybe they add just enough weight to move the gauges and loosen the bolts.

And they look really good at night, better than in day light.

at night theyre perfect orange. day is white, but they can get glare pretty bad w the tinted lenses

as far as mounting goes a new set of screws may resolve it. i have them in the 'all-the-way-down' position now, resting on the column, so they dont move anymore

Elpappy,
Thanks for the pictures. What pods did you use and how did you mount them? Have to love that gauge!

It's the alta pod...and yes it seems cheep. I got the guage from summitracing.com .

Stewart Warner makes the OEM guages....I think I read that somewhere...but anyway it matches very well.

Randy- You should chance your sign-in to "King Gauge". I've flown planes with fewer gauges!

Had Scan Gauge came out with their product a few years ago I could have ommited a few of them thats for sure . It looks a bit overwhelming but I really only use them one at a time depending on what we are doing with the car.

I've gotten a lot of laughs and comments over the years over those. I used to just use airline bags but for one of the AMVIV events I had a few hundred made up with a M7 Logo and this text :

" For Mini Motion Sickness "

Just snag a bag from the plane on your next flight )
