thats what tactical shotguns are for. the sound of a pump shotgun will scare the $h!T out of an intruder. most handguns have too high of a calibur and you risk it going through walls into other occupied rooms, with bird shot at close range you will hurt/dismember/kill, but at medium to long range you're just going to hurt/stun/disable the perp

I would say go the euro parcel shelf route. right under the right side of your steeringwheel. Its not visible from the Drivers window but in short reach distance for your right hand. You could easily take that panel out and fab it.

[quote=thecigarman;2753356]There are holsters that are meant to be screwed or glued under a desk or drawer that would hold a pistol. Look on eBay, there are several that routinely appear there. http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/Vie...Item=126876208

There are also gunsafes specifically made for vehicles http://www.center-of-mass.com/Store_InCarGunSafe.htm and auto holsters http://www.securityandsafetysupply.c...protech-8.html

Regardless remember that concealed really means concealed in many states. If you go to Ohio and are stopped, the trooper can sit in your seat and if they can reach the pistol while seated, you get arrested (unless you have a CCW). In some states transporting a loaded weapon (or even an unlocked weapon) is there same as carrying concealed.

Not to say that you are misinformed, but according to this http://www.nraila.org/statelawpdfs/MOSL.pdf you cannot bring a firearm onto a College or University Campus... University facilities would include parking areas

I appreciate all of your responses. First off let me address three things. 1) In Missouri you do not need a CCW to carry a weapon in the car. It is legal to have it within reach, hidden or in plain view. 2) St. Louis University is a great school and much safer than even 5 years ago. That said, St. Louis University's Dept. of Public Safety is the fourth largest police department in the State (behind St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and Highway Patrol) So, its a serious effort. Nevertheless, I get Emails about every other day from DPS about crimes against students. These are Armed criminals. Its frequent, its aggressive, and its a problem. I'm not out to hurt someone, but protect myself. Most confrontations end up with someone in the hospital, even if totally compliant with the criminal. 3) Missouri has passed a bill allowing concealed carry on campuses in the house and its going to the senate. But it doesn't matter because Campus is safe, and I park in a private lot off campus.

Okay all of that covered, I'm a gadget junkie, I love James Bond, and I believe in the second ammendment. So I thought this would be a potentially unique project and I just need advice. The set-up could just as easilly work for a multi-tool, flashlight, and a pack of gum so, please, if you have thoughts share them. Pretend I'm trying to figure out where to hide my rosary and bible. I'm sort of getting this together now so if anyone want to see or hear about how I do it, let me know and I'll keep you posted

I got my car brand new a couple weeks ago and thought the secret glove box was cool. I put a couple cigars in it as my secret stash knowing no one would ever find them. As soon as my daughter got in the car she bumped it and it opened right up. "Daddy... I found cigars in your car!" Of course she bumps into everything, but that is what kids do...

It's really not so secret.

A spot for your rosary and bible! what a comparison
I love it! aside from everyones personal opinions on why anyone needs to carry guns, and you'll get arrested if you get caught, and there so unsafe,(whatever). I carry one wherever I go locked and loaded. I have one at my house, one at my shop, and one in my car. Because the one time you'll need it will be the one time you didn't bring it with you.
the mini is a narrow enough car that you can build a storage box in the glove box and have quick easy access to it. say within 3-6 seconds of a confrontation. the other place that would work would be to make a door on the parcel shelf under the steering wheel. the down side to the shelf is the gun would have to be lying down whereas in the glove box you can actually have the holder molded into a position that is shaped to have the gun easily grabbed in the proper grasping position quicker.

P.S. I would never recommend pulling out a gun and "pumping it" with no rounds in it. that is one of the dumbest things Ive ever heard. All it takes is the other person to have a loaded gun to respond back, and your done. Always keep it loaded with a full clip and one in the chamber. and don't pull it out unless you follow through (jmo)

A PLAN!

Okay, after a sleepless night lost in my head, I think I came up with a plan. It is impossible to explain, and even I don't exactly have it all worked out, but tentatively, I'm going to rip out the e-brake trim and arm rest and build something that will go over the brake and back to/sitting flush with my rear seat delete. Don't have all the details worked out, but now I'm departing from my Glock 21. For size contraint reasons it will now house a Walther PPS .40 S&W. I'm going to try to sketch something up and I'll put it up when I do.
