The ones on either side of the speedo? As I recall those are all part of the speedo trim. You have to pull off the dash trim (or just open the secret compartment on that side, which exposes a few screws on either side. Then there's the screws on top of the speedo inside the vent. Look up a thread on installing a Kuda mount or a toggle switch and there's lots of detail on taking that stuff apart.

Heh... no, that secret compartment.

Try here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...hardwired.html

And here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...al-on-r56.html

For how to get all that stuff apart. I got as far as taking the ring around the vent off, but didn't care to take the vent out, so I don't know exactly how it comes out. The trim around the vent is attached to the trim around the speedo, is attached to the trim around the vent on the other side of the speedo (by the secret compartment) which is what makes it complicated.

Good luck! Let us know how it works out and looks when it's finished!

Did you ever figure out how to remove the vent next to the drivers door? I have a rattle in mine and I want to remove it to see if I can figure out what is vibrating.

yes....you have to remove the plastic trim behind the RPM meter. then remove the bottom part of the dashboard that located underneath the steering wheel ( 3 screws from bottom or pedal area) after removing that, you will uncover on of the screws that hold the vent. then pry on the side plastic that located right next to the vent ( it can only be pried on when you open the door , its sort of shaped like a letter U ). when you look at that driver side door vent, its to the left of the vent, behind it you will find like 2 screws that hold the actual vent. now theres one more screw right underneath the A-pillar plastic, i didnt attempted to get to it, becasue i didnt needed to, but i think you have to get the a-pillar off to get to it..hope that helps.
