- plasti- the rims BLACK (in a month or 2 )

-the door handles

- still debating weather or not i should put on the gloss viper strips that i have:confused::confused::confused::roll::roll::rol l:

everytimeidie027 Jan 7, 2009 10:49 PM

maybe you should think about the stripes after you black everything else out, looks pretty good without them, but you never know, could look good with the viper stripes too

If it were mine I would think about selling the Gloss black stripes and think about flat black stripes. By the way that Blacked out Belt line looks GREAT!

masterd78 Jan 8, 2009 09:57 AM

Agreed! Black Rims, Door Handles and I think the Flat Black stripes would look SICK!!

Are you going for a matte look? Your tinted hl's look really matte and not glossy- i'm assuming light output (esp becuz its halogen and non xenon) has been reduced quite a bit... i did the joey mod on mine because of this, plus it gives it a tinted look by having a black inside- the mirrors look plastidipped, i think with the black roof/ a-pillar glossy, the mirrors would match better being glossy- you can find them on ebay if you're looking carefully for ~40$ sometimes.

otherwise, looks good!

rims next!

Yah i am going more for the matte look because, it matches with the plastic surrounding the whole car. and The tinted HL's are not really bothering me yet + my car is a lease for now soo yah i would joey mod em if it wasn't..im going 2 do the rims in a month hopefully .the handles in a week or 2..:thumbsup:

For Plastidip.. do you guys just tape the surrounding and paint on it?? what's the best method? i want to black out the chrome lining around the car too... or a matt finish...

and what brand and where did you guys get it?

4Boogie Jan 23, 2009 04:30 PM

I think by chrome lining you're takling about the beltline. You need to get the beltline blackout kit from outmotoring.com . And yes mask surrounding area before painting. You need to score a line with a razor blade or exacto knife after every coat because plasti-dip dry into a sheet of plastic. You dont want that sheet conneted to your work or it will peel off when you peel the tape off like if your painting embloms.

I would suggest removing whatever you want to black out instead of painting over it (except the door handles they r a bi*** to take off from what i hear ) they r very easy to take off and put on .Also for the bed line u can just buy black electric tape vinal and apply, don't stretch them 2 much!!GOOD LUCK :grin:
