REALLY?! Is that shot with a HVLP gun or can it be shot with a conventional gun? I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter but I'm not in the biz and things change so fast with paint.

Is that the trend now with auto paint, no need to bake? What about the durability? Same or better as conventional baked on paint? Why no powder coat for your wheels? Did you consider that?

Thanks!

First I only use HPLV but you can use the convention type/ The PPG I use does not need to be baked on.

Durability is really good and the plus side of paint is you can repair it...you cannot repair powder coat. We paint because we are a custom paint shop....

Mods moved your threads 'cause they were in the wrong section, this one should stay as it is posted appropriately.

Note:

2nd gen, Modifications, and headers for the category. there are also rules in each section.

not digging the gloss fenders. 60% gloss > full gloss, for me.

To each his own....:)

old81 Jan 3, 2009 04:37 PM

All the pictures and mods look great. :)

I'm wondering how the gloss fenders would have presented in a matte or flat black?

Excellent job, keep the pictures coming. Does the MINI have any dirt anywhere on it?

Time to sell that Vette, if your not driving it.

I am not a fan of matte finishes. I sprayed them a couple of times and just does not do it for me...to me it looks unfinished.

Not much dirt on my Mini or Vette...they are not Daily drivers..I am lucky that way.

As for the Vette...after 3 years of hard labor on it I dont think I will ever sell it....well, unless the price is right. It is my other baby:nod:

Thanks for the compliments:thumbsup:

it brings out teh details in the car vs. dazzling with light. I'm not talking flat...I'm talking 60% gloss.

I realize what your saying. I am a custom painter and spray diffrent levels of Matte all the time at a customers request...just not something I really like..

oh snap, PGT and I don't agree... again...

Red Bull you have a great looking R56 JCW and the detail work stands out among the best I've seen on NAM.

Now back to me agreeing with PGT.
