I seem to spend a lot of time in a local community theatre, doing lights, sound, things like that. I've used snips of the gel colors we use for lights for flashlights (lots of theatre folk do that -- put color over a maglite), and the Apple logo on my laptop.
That's what I'd consider for the dash -- using gels to color (google for Rosco color).
Well, If you can find the right size surface mount LEDs and are good at soldering tiny things..... AND, if you are willing to risk several hundreds of dollars worth of gauges for your MINI..... you could attempt it yourself. I have seen many tutorials on a DIY for your gauges. I just don't think that I am a good enough solderer to attempt it....
