I can't see the stripes. Are they ghost stripes? Before adding body detail, maybe you should worry about that damage above your right rocker before it starts to rust. If you ghost striped your door(?), the stripe is probably going to have to come off when the body shop has to repaint the door. WTH happened?

Wait is that a major scratch running along the side of the car, or is that the graphic? Sorry no insult meant, but I'm not certain what we're looking at? Looks like a squiggly stripe to me!

not sure what everyone's replies are all about (????),
but I for one REALLY like those stripes, lotsoboost!
Very cool and nice and subtle!
If I didn't have something else planned for my car's sides I would consider something like that.

Cool and thanks for posting!

I think they look cool. You're really asking for it when you request opinions on this site. I think the sides are a good place to start for exterior mods, they're so plain.

Besides, I doesn't matter what we think. MINI's are made to customize.

I knew I was asking for it when I posted them but I just put those comments off to the side especially the ones that come from people who don't even have a MINI yet (Octane Guy). It seems to me that unless you do what everybody else does like aero stripes or the even more common racing stripes then you are wrong. I am in no way making fun of those kind of stripes I almost put aero stripes on and I had the racing stripes running up the hood but after looking at them I didn't want to be like everyone eles. Thank you to those who gave me their opinions but to those whose critized them. Next time don't personally the owner of the car or the car itself. Use construtive critizism to apply your opinion. Thanks...Justin

Actually Justin, I wasn't being sarcastic. On my LCD laptop, the graphic isn't all that clear (I did say that I didn't mean it as an insult in my original post). It appears jagged, and literally looks like someone took a paper clip and dragged it across the side of the car. Maybe I just have bad eyes, or maybe it's just my computer.

From strictly a design standpoint, I'd consider it on the weak side.

If you can't take constructive criticism, don't ask for it. Simple as that. Good luck with your sign business btw.

As for not having a MINI, gimme a break, I'm picking it up next week, so peace, ok?

OctaneGuy has it exactly right. The pixelation in the images exaggerates the jagged lines in the stripes, making the pictures look like they are of a MINI that was attacked with a sword. Maybe the effect is different in a clear picture or in person. If I cared, I'd make it a point to be extra serious, and predetermine to heap praise upon whatever is presented. However, the MINI is rounded, having curves instead of sharp angles and jagged edges, so retro-80's detailing probably isn't the best idea for the car.

Got to agree with you MCS2204. I'm now looking at the picture on my 21" monitor at home, and the pixelation is still there. Justin asked for opinions, and heck, he's getting them. If he asked for praise, well that's a different story. His jab about me not having my MC yet was uncalled for, but hey, if that's how he wants to express his sensitivity, so be it.

Not all of us are easy to please, so if you want a fair criticism, make sure your presentation is as best as can be, so we cannot misintrepret your intentions. I think it certainly has potential, it's just not there yet. And since you DO have your MINI Justin, unlike myself, let me suggest that you continue to refine and make your graphics better and take advantage of that fact. Especially considering you want to be doing this as a business, MINI customers are some of the most critical and demanding car owners that exist!

Nice idea to try and do something different. Personally though, I think the stripes in the picture are just a tad understated. As pointed out, when you actually see the car it may be different than what the photo shows.

I see nothing wrong with retro 80's stuff since, afterall, it is a retro 60's car!

Retro-80s detailing is fine for a car that is either from the 80s, like an IROC Z, or looks like it's from the 80's, like a Subaru WRX.

The MINI has a rounded, cartoonish appearance that begs for broad stripes no matter where they are on the car. The tall sides completely overpower thin stripes.

They are different and look nice. Though I tend to agree that the MINI demands something with more visual impact.

The Cooper cries for bold expression... them squiggles is too tame, too seen-it-before-on-everyothercar.

If the design needs extra punch, you could try using that line with a word, like MINI, or Cooper, or Cooper S, or a sponsor/team name. That way the line has an objective...that object becomes the dominant element and the line simply moves the eye in that direction. Just a thought...
