Am I the only one that's keeping the OEM antenna?
I feel like everyone else has aftermarket antennas. I really like mine, but I feel like eventually because of how cheap all of the other ones are that I'll wind up switching it out.
Anyone have a Mini with a decent amount of mods on it and keep the factory antenna? |
I say if you like it. keep it. Be different than everyone else.
|
I don't think there is anything amiss with the OEM antenna - not even a mod I've considered really, and I'll consider almost any mod that is as easy to put back to stock as that :)
|
I'm keeping mine... primarily because I don't even want to chance interference for the factory Nav... but also because... hey, it's OEM... and my car is Mr. OEM.
|
I have a factory antenna on my car, though I painted it yellow. I like the "RC car" look it gives.
|
Reminds me to put Jack Reinder ball on my stock antenna.

Q: Am I the only one that's keeping the OEM antenna?
A: No. I have kept mine. |
I ditched the RC car look LONG ago! to each their own.
|
Stock OEM antenna here...don't want to look like a BMW...I drive a MINI
|
YES, You are the only one....
|
I kept my stock antenna, even though it's bent slightly from my roll over.
|
^Is your roof bent slightly as well?
|
I purchased a stubby antenna, had it on for about three weeks, and put the OEM antenna back on...ended up I liked the look of the OEM better. That was about seven months ago.
Anyone want a stubby... cheap ? |
I had a stubby antenna and some one broke it off and damaged the base. I replaced the base, which was a PITA, so now I'm going to keep mt OEM. I wish I could have caught the ---hole that broke it off.

Changing it won't make my MCS handle any better or make it go faster.   |
I swapped out the stock antenna for a black stubby. It suits my MINI much better.
YES .... I do fly R/C and full scale. Radio reception seems to be the same. |
Switching to my stubby added 15hp instantly!

Cheers!! |
GPMINI still has the "R/C" antenna - I like the look, I guess I'm used to it after 5+ years of MINI driving.
I just ordered a nice looking Union Jack antenna topper for it; we'll see what it looks like on the car ... but no stubby for me! |
i still have the OEM antenna i love the r/c look and if i need to find it in the parkinglot all i got to do is put a stremer or a balloon full of a bount gas and tie it to the antenna

|
yes . . . and no.
I still have the OEM -- but it's gotten a wire-cutter trim: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...m/P5190006.JPG . . . and I haven't noticed a change in reception. |

I still have the OEM on mine and like it. I have seriously considered a stubby but didnt want my MINI to get a complex over it!
