Fits the same as my original one, which means the bonnet needs a little bit of soaking to mold it around the brace. I did not measure it against the original, but they look identical. However, it seems to raise the back of the bonnet a bit more, so I'm doing another round of soaking to make it fit better, as the last one was already fitting well after breaking in the bonnet. I am not sure how well these photos show it off, but here goes.....
BTW, in removing the STB strut tower plates in replacing my original unit, there wasn't even a hint of mushrooming. This is impressive, considering in the time it was on I damaged and replaced both front tires from pothole damage.
blackie, what are you going to do to protect it? I was thinking, how about that ClearBra material? Could it withstand the engine bay heat?
Looks bada$$ BTW
Thanks. I just expect to clean it often; M7 supplies a detail polish as well as a shammy (nice touch, but then again it costs enough to cover this little extra cost they incur). The original held up remarkably well; all you need to do is not let it go too long before you wipe it down.
Waiting for mine to arrive. Can,t wait. Looks awesome Blackie
Removed my under bonnet insulation just for my M7 STB.Even after the soak and slam method. My bonnet still sat high. So i removed it and replaced it with some functional "BLING".
I saw one in person last night, and none of the pictures do this item justice. It looks amazing in person. I can't spend $350 on something like this, but if I was going to do so, I'd want this black chrome version.
