Anyone got a line on alternate shift knobs that aren't crome, so they won't get blazing hot in the southwest heat?

or does anyone know of a suitable cover while the car is parked? I'm using my MINI hat right now...

I use one of my detailing rags. Keeps the direct sun off, but still the knob gets plenty hot from just the air moving around it.

I found if I keep the sunroof open to the first position, my MCS really keeps much cooler on the inside

Convertible trick... use a sock cut to length.

Our Black Crackle Monte Carlo does well-not as hot,but any billet knob willbecome hotand yes, make a sock for the knob - it does help.

A really nice leather or neoprene cover (to be removed before driving) for the shift knob would be a nice thing for a vendor to offer. (hint, hint)

See ya,

I had a Momo carbon fiber/leather knob left over from another project. Its a lot better than the stock one. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...lbum04/eeq.jpg

I live in Florida and I leave a can cooler (foam) on the knob when it's parked. After leaving the car in the sun all day long (with a sun shade on the windshield) the knob is still very hot, but not too hot to shift. I've also thrown my Oakley sunglasses bag over the knob for the first 5-10 minutes of the drive and that makes a huge difference.

Are you saying that Jesus actually came down from heaven to fashion a baseball into a gearshift knob for you?
