Tint percentages and pics, inside and out.

Hi everyone! I'm working on structuring a "tintathon" for my local club, and everyone is very curious what percentage of tint to get. I'm hoping I can enlist the help of NAM members to post pictures of their tinted mini's, not only outside shots in different weather conditions (Cloudy, full sun) but shots from inside to the out. I know laws vary nationwide... so lets keep that discussion to a minimum.

So if you can help out my local members, as well as future non-tinted vehicles to come, and post up some pictures... I think it would be helpful. Thanks!

here is mine 20% on al the windows except the front windsheild and sunroofs

the only shot i have that shows the windows from the inside is with a door open and the shot taken from the outside. if you want i can take a picture from the inside. for me 20% is perfect dark enough not to be able to see in from a distance but light enough to be able to see out at night

here is a thread about window tinting also

hope this helps

If only 20% tint was legal in all US states. The police state of Virginia only allows 70% on the front sides unless you have a sunshade waiver signed by your eye doctors then you can get 35%.

35% metallic tint

In the past I've always went with 50% tint because its illegal here in Michigan but of all people my wife, yes my wife, gave me a hard time about going with 50%. So when it came time to tint the windows of my MINI she said "you still going to go with 50%?" I gave in to peer pressure and went the next step darker, 35%. I feel this should be legal as its not too dark at nightime and still looks good. Get that group together and let the tinting begin, as well as the discount

I have several before and after tint pics in my gallery. I can't post them in the thread with this PC. Roof 5%, windows 20%.

It wouldn't stick to the cabrio. But it would look great on the windows.

do i have some pics for this thread....

first ill start off with the MINI. 5% all around, 15% on the whole windshield, and 5% strip on top of the 15% already tinted windshield. if you think this is dark, wait til you scroll down and see my explorer lol

best side shot i have, im gonna retint the sides though, cuase they have a greenish mirrior look to them, not straight black like i want.

now, the explorer. double 5% all around, 5% on the whole windshield, and 5% strip on top of the 5% windshield. the back also has the stock 20%, as well as the double 5.

back is double 5, front was single 5 (in this pic)

who said anything was legal? lol. If we could keep legal discussion to a minimum please... laws vary widely, as does regard for tint laws in general.

Anyone have pics of 50%? I want to tint but don't want any "issues" wherever I go and figure 50% should be "safe".

Oh, and since the rear side windows are darker than the fronts, wouldn't the same % applied to both result in the rears looking darker?
