Spare tire and rear strut brace?

I have a 06 MCS and got rid of the run-flats. I got my spare tire sitting behind the passengers seat. I saw a picture of a member (Rick Anderson) who installed a rear strut bar and then attached his spare to the bar. Ebay has some inexpensive strut braces ($25) and I was wondering if those braces would work? My main question is wether the seat can sit back completely with the strut brace attached? Tips from anyone with experience with those braces would be appreciated.

As with anything from ebay it might take some tweeking. I have one of those cheepies and I am sure it would work for the tire, but the brackets are PRETTY CHEAP! dont know if I would trust them holding seats with anyone I love in it.

I have the M7 rear chassis brace and I keep my spare back there with it. I eventually want to fab a mount up to attach to the bar, but for now i just have a small rope tied to the wheel and then to the bar. It does a decent job holding it in place for now. The seats sit all the way back and the trunk cover closes all the way down too.

Randy, are you listening? He's not the only one thinking along those lines.

Wouldn't it be easier if it came that way?
