Question Oil Temp Sensor location

Hi all!

I have installed a water temp sensor, a boost sensor, an oil pressure sensor and to complete my 4 custom 3D printed pods, i need an oil temp sensor. (lol its not to complete the set, but to get the data really - whom am i kidding, i like the gauges!)

I am reading different opinions. Some install it at

- the location of the oil pressure
- the oil sump plug
- the oil sump pan (they tap the pan)
- the oil filter housing (they tap the housing)

my question is: where to put it? If i will get correct readings at the oil pressure sensor, i will use the adapter i used for the oil pressure with some modifications cause the temp sensor is long and thats it. If not where? I do not want to put it at the sump plug cause its a mcs r56 AC Schnitzer, and its really low. I even thought to install an oil radiator and get the temp out of there.
I will make a DIY thread with all sensors and gauges once im finished.

Whats your opinion??

Thank you for your answer. The adapter will replace the oil pan plug. I wrote that i do not want to use it because my car is already close to the ground and do not want to crash the sensor or worse to deal with an oil leak..

LOL sorry didn't read far enough. I'd say same location as the pressure sensor is the best bet.
