Horn on 05 R53 not working?

To make the story short the horn has not worked since I bought the car last month! I would really like to fix it myself and I'm just not sure what the issue could be. I have yet to check whether it's a problem with the fuse or not so that may very well be it! However, if it's not I would like to be prepared. Have any of you ever replaced your horn before? And if so, was it was it easy, and is there anything special you have to do to get to the steering wheel wiring of the horn without deploying the air bags? I'm new to all of this so please be gentle! :)

First welcome to NAM and second you have a 1st Gen car and this is the 2nd Gen section. Also this is the HOW TO section not a section to be asking questions as much as telling/showing how to do something.

I would suggest you head over to the electrical section in the 1st Gen forums and ask you question there. They will be of much more help over there.

I know this thread will probably be moved but I managed to repair my horn yesterday. Take into consideration mine is an R56. The horn was located under the headlights on the drivers side (I have right hand euro spec model). Basically water had gotten into it and was no longer blowing. There is a simple drain plug that you screw out. But the water was some how lodged past the drain plug so I had to tilt the drain plug face down and blow into the horn (nasty I know). That came gushing out with some water but still a tad was stuck in and the horn still wasn't working. So I pumped it with WD40 and lo and behold the horn is back. Pretty simple fix.

I would suggest checking your fuses firstly before you go that far though. Goodluck
