Interior/Exterior :: How to Remove the Dash (videos)

I remember a few weeks ago seeing a 2 part video on Youtube with a guy that took his R56 dash board apart in his totaled MINI. I need to get the lowest part of the center column off because I spilled pop in it and it's all sticky (yuck). I know how to get the shifter/ebrake area off but I don't want to snap any clips on the other parts and I can't find the videos anywhere!

If someone could point me to the video or tell me how to get it off I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!!

Thanks for the link - I'm currently running my iPhone wiring around the side of the center column, and now that I know it's relatively easy to pull that piece off, I may just run it up between the facing panel and the internal support. Then it's only a matter of time until I bury the 12V->iPhone charger adapter and hardwire it, and free up my cigarette lighter socket for something more interesting.

Nice! I have 4 rattles in the dash that are driving me nuts. I need to rip it apart and either tighten everything up, or apply foam tape to the plastic on plastic pieces to dampen the vibrations. This is a great help!

I had a couple dash rattles. My dealer found the dash pins had broken and replaced the whole top piece of the dash to fix it.

Does it sound like this? This was on a smooth road surface.

Download the attached file and rename it with a .mp3 file extension. I had to rename it to .pdf to get the forum to allow the attachment.

Video not working?

I know that this is an old post, but the links are no longer working. Any others?

These videos no longer work! Can anyone help me find a better source for learning how to disassemble the dash?

FWIW, I'm trying to run a 12v electrical connection right over the dash for my GPS.

The links above have been marked private. Anybody know where I can get access to them or other dash removal vids?

Heh! Well, I learned to search on You Tube (:p). Here's a link to a quick and dirty removal tutorial:
