For Sale: Four Run Flat, MINI Cooper Tires (Hawai'i Kai)

Aloha Fellow MINI Owners!

I am selling four gingerly used P195/55VR16.0 BSW Run Flat Performance tires for the MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S Models.

These sporty run flat tires were a pricey modification on the 2003 MINI Cooper I own. I understand that my car's previous owner paid over $350 a tire (Yikes! See the next post!) and that the tires were driven for fewer that 2,000 miles! The tread is in great shape (see attached photos or e-mail me for a link to a Kodak Photo Gallery).

I replaced the run flat tires with boring, old, everyday tires for a less sporty ride (I'm an old geezer.).

If you're interested in taking your MINI up a notch, buy these tires. If I still have the tires on February 19, I can give them to you at the MINI of Hawaii Sweetheart Rally
 or meet you at MINI of Hawaii.
What are Run Flat Tires?
"With conventional tires, when all the air has escaped, the vehicle cannot safely continue down the road. Run-flat technology helps solve this problem by supporting the vehicle long enough to get to a service location or the original destination safely without damaging the tire or the wheel." --www.cnet.com

Where can I get the skinny on Run Flat Tires?
"The nuisance of slow leaks and the danger of high-speed blowouts are what self-sealing and run-flat tires have been fighting for more than two decades."

Aloha minikupa and welcome to NAM.
As the new owner, I hope you're enjoying the supple ride the less sporty tires you recently purchase.

Some insight....the 16" run-flat tires came as a $600 option including the upgraded 16" wheels (non-MCS).

If the previous owner purchased them $350/tire, they paid way too much:eek: :eek2:
Not to rain on your parade, but, at least in Hawaii, there have been pristine sets of 16" wheels AND tires for around $400-$600. I should know, I own two sets:roll:

You did the right thing by removing the run-flats for "normal" tires to ease the ride. Good Luck!!!

Thank you!

I am new to MINIs and the Board. Thank you so much for your post!

Yes, I love the car and much prefer the supple ride on the new tires.

Thanks for the info!

(PS: Any thoughts on what to do with the Run Flats? Coffee table, maybe? Lawn ornaments?)
