How's Sunday, November 23 sound? This will also be a fundraiser for our local Food Bank.

We will drive around the island and each driver will be given a card at one of five stops. The best hand after our five stops, wins 50% of the pot. 2nd place gets 30% and 3rd place gets 20% of the pot. i.e. 10 participants@ $10 each for a pot of $100, 1st $50, 2nd $30, 3rd $20.

The ante? $10 per car and of course, some canned goods.

At first, I thought about doing it on the Thanksgiving weekend, but why not collect the food on Sunday and I'll deliver to the Food Bank on Monday! That way we can have some fun and help those who are less fortunate at the same time! Then we can all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

If you are inclined to do so, you may donate your winnings to the Food Bank.

Geez, I'd really love to be gunning for half the pot on the 23rd but I've got a 3:00 class that afternoon in town. Useless question here: Any chance of the run finishing at around 2:30 in town then

In speaking w/MINIkahuna today, it was suggested that I keep track of all the cards and their values issued to participants. That way, I would know who would be the eventual winner at the dealing of the last card. Maybe if you had to leave, I could set aside a card for you. We'll probably need 2 decks to deal, depending on the amount of participants. Cards will be shuffled PRIOR to being dealt at every stop. Let's see, we'll have stops at:

Zippys - Briefing and collection of ante & food
Diamond Head
Sandy's
Kualoa Park
Laie Point
BMW/MINI - I hope they have parking of us!

Just for clarification-
This is a Hawaii MINI only event???
If so I will try my best to attend. My cans are piling up as we type.
I have back surgery to undergo on Oct 21 (to fix a ruptured disc) so hopefully I will be up and driving by then but no guarantees.

Yup, I got a nasty ruptured disk since march and it isn't going away anytime soon.
I can have a neurosurgeon go in and remove the bulging part of the disk to give my smashed nerves some space for a change. It's great growing old.

As we get closer on the date can you update us as to starting time and which Zippys to meet at?
Also I need the approx. finishing time. We bring lunch for Kualoa park again? Takes too long to go drive somewhere.

Also please provide directions for the Zippy's. I still plan on being there, sounds fun. :smile:
