Thank you bro. No, I will bring the impact set (the one I borrowed from the_beastmaster and got his approval to use at the DIY).

Now my wheels bolts/nuts don't have to be different-sized.

I looked at my schedule but sorry I can't make it this weekend.
BTW: On the thermostat, does it comes with a gasket/ o-ring? You don't want to re-use the old one!!!!! Let me know how much is my share. I might even buy the oil catch can if you still some left over sale....

Another one DYI for external OIL COOLER.....

thermostat

Dream-in

You don't need to change the o-ring unless is damage, there's no gasket need for the housing either. I've done two cars and the o-ring was in good condition. At rule of thumb you always change gasket or o-ring but no need in this case.

Yes, I have a few Alta oil catch cans left and I'll put one aside for you

Dirk, I have torch and nuts --should have no trouble getting your studs off even with red locktite, if we do i've got big vicegrips which worked on mine when nothing else would.
(i've used the studs from Tire rack without any issues for long while-just in case you want to order some. They use 17" nuts as opposed to some of others which use 19. If you get the longer 58MM ones they'll fit using 5mm spacer as i have on mine).

Having your stuff and Andrew's stuff will be good - you know me, I may break 'em all!

My wheel stud bolts are junk. I bought them from Pilo but they are actually Gorilla brand or something like that. Keep coming off.

Thanks Barry.

studs

D
You know HPW (Ron'S) have those gorilla studs in stock all the time. Yep, it is junk. You have to use the harden steel stud with the red locktil coating on it. I'm ordering some open ends tuner bolts also

so...if i plan on having the adaptor installed at the diy, where should i go to p/u one? and i read i should look for version 2, i believe.

anybody else planning on doing this install next next weekend?

only problem is if go ahead and get this done, i'm gonna need to upgrade my stereo to get the most out of my new music gizmo. oh well...

They actually don't sell the iPOD MINI anymore, I only metioned it because originally you thought you had the iPOD MINI. The replacement for the iPOD MINI is the iPOD NANO - my daughter has this and it works on the iPOD Adaptor.

Louis (cwlouis) has the iPOD Video (not sure what it's real name is) and he likes it a lot. He actually has an older model too. Ask him about the differences as he is really into this stuff.

because i have too many damn cd, i need at least a 30G to hold most of it. but if anyone is looking for a ipod mini (not andrew's version), you might try amazon.com. i think the apple site might have some referb ones... i know a couple of people who has the nano, the only complain is that the nav wheel is too small for them. as for quality of sound, what i've read is that the ipod photo (G4), video and nano suppose to sport a better chip to give you a better range with the MP3 files...but for some average users, you can't even tell...

Mahalo,

Bill
Bill,

How many is a lot? We can't have too many since it's a private residence, inside of a gated community.

Barry posted his directions in the wrong thread so I will PM the directions to you for e-mail distribution (and I will copy what he posted here).

Dirk

To Queens Gate I from town- take Kalanianaole Hwy past Hanauma Bay, past Sandy Beach- turn left at only traffic light (Kealahou). You'll pass Queens Gate II on your right- continue on Kealahou about half mile down further down you'll see gate to Queens Gate I- turn in here- If you reach stop sign you've missed turn to QG I, turnaround. At QG I gate press code for McIntyre and i'll buzz you in-
Coming from windward on Kalanianaole past Sea Life Park, past Hawaii Kai Golf Course entrance, turn right at traffic light (Kealahou)- see above

I am on the group buy for the DIY but I didn't ask to be on the list for the DIY list. I wanted to see if I was still welcome to attend. Unfortionatly I wont be able to bring my Mini because it is still at the Mini service department till monday. I would love to help out and observe. I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

i won't be doing the ipod adaptor install after all...sorry for all the mini and nano talk. i just don't see myself spending thousands of dollars on upgrading my stereo to take advantage of my new ipod hookup; plus it's been said before that mp3 players just can't reproduce the same level of quality music that cd's do. so i'll just stick with my stock cd player for now.

but i'll still be there for the thermostat install...i've been waiting a number of months now to do this!
